Just a rope and so much more than a rope
Well, it's a jumprope and functions as such, so no complaints from me! I purchased it for my class of overactive 6th graders to use on their break and it has been quite popular. Initially only the girls would go near it but now the boys are joining in too! In addition to giving them a workout, they are also getting better at taking turns, working together, and solving disputes. And when it's not a jumprope it has been a leash for their pretend dog, a tug of war rope, a finish line for foot races and a million other things.

Does NOT contain 2 ropes for double dutch
I was looking for double dutch jumping ropes , thought this came with 2 but missed the whole word SINGLE . Definitely would not have bought just the one for $15.So we have one long rope , okay no problem I'll teach my kids to jump with one first HOWEVER, the single threads are so light that the whole rope is not very thick or study and was kinda gone with the wind .Would not recommend as an actually jump rope

This is the jump rope you had as a kid!
These are great jump ropes, just like the kind I remember using on school playgrounds as a kid! It's a nice thick rope with good weight to it (it thumps when it hits the ground) for easy turning and jumping, yet won't hurt anyone if a kid accidentally gets hit with it (unlike the beaded ones or the plastic cords). I've been looking for a good ole' fashioned jump rope like the ones I remember from recess (in the 80s) and was starting to think no one made them anymore until I found these. I also love that there are no plastic handles at the ends to get caught up during turning. Just perfect! My kids love it.

NOT good for double dutch!
I had to order 2 of these (does not come in a set) so that's $30 and the two ropes were different lengths! The lengths were so awkward that even when the people turning rolled them up on their hands they could not get the lengths to match. And you can't turn and jump double dutch with uneven ropes. NOT good for double dutch! Ordered a $5 set of 2 ropes and they work 1000xs better!

Solid jump rope!
If you're looking for a stereotypical looking jump rope, this is NOT it. This one, in my opinion, is better. It's a solid rope that will not break or sent chunks of plastic bits flying. There is not an actual handle of sorts...it's just the rope knotted and melted in order to make it easy to grip. My family of 4 just used it and it's perfect! Would totally recommend!

This is not really a jump rope.
This is not really a jump rope. It is just a piece of climbing rope, with the ends melted to prevent fraying and a few knots tied in it. You could make this yourself by going to your local sports or camping store and buying a short length of climbing rope, which would be much cheaper. Because it's intended for climbing, it's somewhat thicker, heavier, and less flexible than you would ordinarily want for a jump rope.

works great even when tied to be swung by one person
Nice, well-made jump rope with plenty of weight to swing properly. Long enough that we tie one end to a fence post so that one person can swing the other end for my daughter to jump in. Great way for a younger child (ours is 6) to get into jumping with only one parent helping.

Very good quality
This is our 3rd rope, we have bought the same one year after year. We have some as backup when we can't remember where we put after using it. These ropes have held their shape and show very minimal wear. Has a good amount of weight, which I prefer compared to speed ropes that are very light.
