Makes tape heads like factory new.
Swift deliver and well packaged. None of the abrasive sheets were wrinkled or damaged and the glass was perfect. The abrasive sheets work like magic. The heavy grit allows you to get the tape head back to the properly shape with no signs of tape wear. This can be quick for heads with little wear (15 minutes) or up to an hour for really bad heads that are really close to throw away. The successive sheets remove the scratches made by the previous grit. The last sheets put in a mirror finish. It is beautiful when finished. All work must be done with some water flowing over the sheets. This was my first timelapping tape heads and I was really happy how well it worked. Great results. The instruction sheet was short but plenty good enough. The work horse grits are 300 and 600 but you can get these at a local hardware store. The finer grits receive less wear.

Well made.
Surprisingly heavy. Flat and accurate ‘grit’ size. Reasonably aggressive. Good set.

My Tools Have Never Been So Sharp.
I’ve use this product to sharpen many items. But it is my new go-to to put that near finishing touch on my plane blades and my straight razor before I move to the strop. The glass does appear very flat and that shines through on a finished edge of a plane blade. These tools should be “scary sharp”, anything less is just dangerous.Pros:FlatThe paper sharpening film is very consistent. You won’t find any 3000 grit that feels like 1000 grit here. Same grit, same texture time and time again.I can achieve a consistently stupid sharp end product over and over again. No more flattening whetstones.Cons:The sharpening film can wear quickly. The sharpening film will tear or get holes in it if the user is not careful. However, This is not a problem if you are careful. You really need multiple pieces of glass if you are going to use multiple grits. This can get expensive.Quality control. The glass is thick and flat but I expected a nice polished edge, especially for the price. The glass I received was cut from a larger piece of glass and I can see in a couple places where the edges were scored to break the pieces. The edges aren’t sharp or dangerous. They just aren’t smooth and polished as one might expect for the price. This is the reason for deducting a single star. Otherwise, I am completely satisfied with the product.

Easy to Use
This system was easy for a new woodworker to setup and use. All at an affordable price. A fraction of the price for diamond stones and such. Was able to get chisels and plane blades cutting paper easily.

Good abrasives, OK plate
The abrasive sheets are clean and flat, everything was well packed for shipment. The glass plate is a little lacking. The edges are slightly raised in some places, and rough. I purchased this to hone razors, and the plate throws off my process.

Hack to save some cash
No complaints easily the most budget friendly way of keeping tools razor sharp. The so called float glass can be aquired for a fraction of the cost at most thrift stores though. Just find glass bathroom scales for 2 or 3 dollars and use your savings to get more lapping film. The glass is thicker in most cases and in case you didn't know all glass is "dead flat". Can't hate the hustle on the part of the Tay tools though.
