Buyer beware! This is NOT authentic lava rock, and the dye bleeds!
My brother picked up a pumice /"lava rock" essential oil absorbing elastic bracelet at a craft fair in California when I last visited him, so when I got the chance to try one of these out for review, I jumped on it.For years now (over a decade), I've been buying my favorite essential oils in bulk from the perfumery (previously known as essential oil University), since I've always gotten the absolute best quality I've found anywhere from them, and at bulk prices, so I was very excited to try my favorite oils on this bracelet.Using my oil - specific glass droppers, I applied a single drop of pure high altitude French lavender essential oil to five beads, then pure US Spearmint to the four beads between the ones I'd already applied oil to. I did notice that the oils didn't seem to absorb in quickly - they just seemed to sit on the surface of the beads. It wasn't until a few minutes later when I moved the bracelet on my wrist that I saw dye very obviously bleeding off of the "lava rock" beads. Looking at it now, I find myself thinking that these beads are unquestionably NOT what's advertised; even if they'd been made of fired, unglazed clay/ceramic, they'd still absorb the oil, so I don't know what these beads are actually made of. What I do know is that I find myself angry that they've been fraudulently advertised.Clearly, this bracelet is cheap for a reason. As always, you get what you pay for, and no one out there that buys this bracelet is likely to get what they expect. What if I'd been wearing a nice linen blouse with this thing? It'd be ruined, that's what! This thing is going straight in the trash.

Dyed “Lava Stones”, Cheap Feeling Materials on Thin Elastic String
The VitaltyExtracts Chakra Bead Bracelet is a cheap trinket bracelet that feels like a child’s play bracelet. For those of you with young kids, the bracelet is made similarly to children’s plastic bracelet - the inner elastic string is white and looks like it would break if you stretch it too much or use it daily, and the beads are light and cheap feeling. The “lava stone” are not lava stone at all, but instead are dyed lava stone like material. Like another reviewer, I had issues with the rocks bleeding dye on my skin once I applied some essential oils to the stones. If you’re not intending to add essential oils to the stones, you shoudln’t have a problem. I would beware if you get the bracelet wet, however. Overall, this bracelet is neither pretty enough to use on its own and not effective to use to diffuse essential oils.

Fun, little trinket; runs small.
Vitaltyextracts Chakra Bead Bracelets - 8mm Natural Lava Rock Stones Beads Bracelets, Men Stress Relief Yoga BeadsThe description indicates this bracelet is for men, so I got it with Veronica’s Dad in mind. He is Buddhist and wears a lot of malas and makes his own cologne with essential oils. He gives it 3 ½ stars and we rounded up to 4 stars based on the $4.99 price point. This is a fun, eye catching, attractive trinket. The Lava stones appear to be genuine and Veronica’s Dad tells me they are a grounding stone, spiritually connecting you to the earth. Lava stone is also calming and helps dissipate anger. The 7 colored gemstones obviously are costume and mostly look like pretty plastic beads. The detailed description of the bracelet indicates it’s unisex, however even with the stretchy, elastic, one-size-fits-all band; it’s going to be a tight fit on a larger wrist. My wrist is 6 inches around and the bracelet is loose. Veronica’s Dad has a smaller wrist for a man, 7 inches around, he finds it quite comfortable and a perfect fit. It would be snug, likely uncomfortable and you would get unattractive spacing between the beads on a larger wrist. The description notes that this is a Diffuser Bracelet and that it will absorb and keep essential oils. Veronica’s Dad didn’t want to bother with that. He said the Lava stone is porous and would hold the essential oils. He uses essential oils primarily as a cologne however, and noted he wasn’t sure that it would contain enough oil to give off any sort of fragrance. He also cautioned for anyone not familiar with working with essential oils, that in their concentrated form, they can cause significant skin irritation.

Pretty, but not high quality
I do like how this bracelet looks quite a bit. It's got dark beads, supposedly lava stones although you can't prove it by me (and to me they don't really seem like stones at all, but I'm not sure) and then 7 beads in the middle in various colors and tones. It's a pretty combination. However, the bead is very, very cheap feeling. It feels like something you'd string at home with cheap beads from the sale rack at a big box craft store. It's made with stretchy cord, which I have actually strung lots of beads on myself, and the cord breaks very easily. It's also light feeling. The price is low, and if you know what you are getting, you might like this, but don't expect it to be higher quality than the price would suggest.
