Don't expect it to function like a traditional tank.
After extensive research we chose this unit and the largest they offer because of our house hold size and usage. So far so good it has been running three years strong now and we still love it. We have a family of 5 and and I don't have much in the way of complaints. It still has its limitations... You can't run the dishwasher, the shower, the sink, etc all at once much like a traditional tank. However, once the teenager is done with his 6 hour shower am not waiting to a traditional tank to fill and heat back up. My tub is about a bagillion gallons and it stays hot the whole time while filling. After 3 years it seems the savings is negligible on the electric cost but the over all benefit of never ending hot water is worth it. We did the install ourselves but truly.. not for the faint of heart. My husband and I have loads of experience in stuff like this. The 36KW requires 4- 40amp breakers. That's 4 breakers with double switches so you need to make sure that you have at least 8 open slots in your breaker box otherwise you'll have to upgrade. Also, keep in mind you need to upgrade all your faucets to Low Flow if you haven't already. Make sure you hook the cold in and hot out up correctly, it's labeled on the bottom of the box. Check, then check again and a third time otherwise you wont get any hot water if it's backwards. (Might have done this and took a little troubleshooting to figure out what was wrong. Thought it was the unit at first) When the unit cuts on it's silent. I totally expected something... I don't know what but, I was surprised it was silent. Also, it makes the lights flicker ever so slightly. Rightly so too, it is sucking a ton of power when it's on. Note that I have 200 amp service and it only makes my NON LED lights flicker. We only have a few regular bulbs left, we've just been replacing them as they burn out. I read other reviews that showed that you need to set it higher then a normal tank. It's true.I like my showers at about 110 degrees (which is way hotter then most people) and I had to crank the unit all the way to the max 140 degrees to get about 112 at the furthest shower. My old tank was set at like 135. But, keep in mind we also have copper pipe and the shower is about 50-60 feet away from the unit so we loose a good bit from the unit to the tap. I expect once we upgrade the pipes and insulate it'll help.- turns out it's true. The PVC pipes loose less heat. Our sinks that are still hooked to copper take longer to heat. Overall after you work out the kinks to get it functioning the way you like it, it is AMAZING to have hot water after my teenage son showers. He is in there forever and he would always run the old tank dry which meant the rest of us had to wait. Seriously, with 5 of us all fighting for evening showers/baths and a million loads of laundry and dishes and everything else you really can't go wrong with endless hot water. No more waiting for the old tank to heat up!

Really great product!!!
Ok so this needs a review. I live in Ohio where it gets cold. I have had this for while now and it has worked flawlessly. It runs one shower with zero problems. I do not see it running two at the same time in the winter, but very possible in the summer and warmer weather. Before I bought this I called the warranty department to just test how they would respond. They were great to me. Then I told them what I was doing and the lady said “I don’t blame you” and wasn’t upset with me. We run our water at 135 degrees Fahrenheit. The install was super easy, and it looks very good. It never has a smell when it’s working, and we never any issues with it. We also have a 27kw and it works flawlessly also. This is only because my house is split plumbing. Love the product and highly recommend it.

Make sure to register it within 30 days
I bought the unit in May 2023 for an addition I was planning to build onto my house. I didn't open the box or read the manual to learn that there is no warranty unless you register the product within 30 days of purchase until it was too late. As soon as the unit was powered up it had problems with the motherboard. It would not turn on when the water started flowing. I had two master electricians and a master plumber troubleshoot the unit before calling customer service. Both electricians told me the power was good. They could get the unit to turn on by applying pressure to certain places on the control board or wires but it would become unresponsive after. Eventually it quit turning on completely. I reported the problem to customer service and they sent a replacement motherboard free of charge even though I had not registered the warranty. With the new motherboard installed the unit works but will only power on 2 of the 4 heating elements. If the water flow exceeds 1.3gpm the unit returns an error code E5, which usually means the water flow is too high for the unit, but the unit should operate with as much as 6gpm at my incoming water temp of 67°F. I contacted customer support again and they cannot help me. They suggested purchasing a new flow sensor, which doesn't make sense because it is displaying the correct flow amount on the unit; the unit just thinks that 1.4+gpm is too much and will not kick on the other heating elements. All heating elements, thermistors, and the fuse have been checked by a master electrician according to the company's troubleshooting guide. They will not replace the unit because I didn't register the warranty in time. So the unit powers one shower but no more, and there doesn't seem to be a way to fix it. Lesson learned. Make sure to register any appliance purchase within 30 days and be prepared for the spam emails to surge a bit after they sell your information to data farms.

4 years and still going strong
This water heater is awesome nearly 4 years and going strong. When we bought our fixer upper, this was put in to replace an 80 Gallon traditional HW heater. I wanted the efficiency of not storing water. There are 3 adults in the house, so typical water usage. I ran the 4 sets of high voltage wires to the circuit panel with required 4 double throw 240v circuits, to power it so you have to have a fair amount of room in your service panel to make this work. I love the way it is easy to adjust HW down to 80 degrees. We have a hose hook up for convenience right at the unit in the garage. This makes it easy to do water changes on my fish tank as well are on a well with great water and I don’t have to treat it. Also nice to have warm water for washing cars and we never run out of hot water. Would definitely recommend a buy.

The item dropped in price by £250 the next day after purchasing this boiler…. To make matters worse the item came with a missing temperature dial and the inserts were broken…. The box arrived damaged externally

This unit requires a lot of power to operate. 4 X 40 amp 240 volts (the double 40amp breakers). Wasn't hard to install but if you don't feel comfortable doing your own electrical, this is not the time to learn.. Hire a professional if you are in doubt. You need 8 slots in your panel. This unit will make your lights flicker but the draw is only during its use, unlike the regular hot water heater that is drawing power pretty much all the time. The system works great and no issues whatsoever.

I purchased the '36kw' model and carefully followed the connection steps, being cautious with electricity. I connected the red wire to the red wire, black to black, and attached the ground wire. I tested each connection with a multimeter. However, when I turned the breaker on, I received error codes S103, H103, r446, P008, etc. Consequently, I returned the defective product, waited for a refund, and decided to take a chance on buying a second one. Unfortunately, it was the same story with the second unit. The box was open, and there was water in the element tube, indicating that it wasn't new but rather an open box with a defective product. I've decided not to try again and will instead pay more for a reliable brand, like Rheem, and purchase it from Home Depot. Yes they refund me, but I loose my time.

Superb water heater, I installed this heater 2 month ago and it works like a charm heats up very fast, and energy bill dropped for then 3 times, I used to have oil water tank heater and it was only enough for couple showers and after I had to wait until water heats up, I highly recommend it to everyone.
