Saturday Matinee Shirt Western Shirt Pattern

Fit was terrible. Instructions felt like someone who designed the pattern wrote just the notes they'd forget. The sleeves were the biggest difficulty. 3 very experienced seamstresses had trouble understanding.Followed my measurements and the shirt was 2 sizes too big. Looked like I had my husbands shirt on. He's a foot taller and 75 lbs heavier than I am.

I was really eager to acquire this pattern, as I am the lead singer of an English Rock n roll/Country music band. I love sewing, and we could find the Country style shirts avaiklable for the band that we wanted as our stage wear. I found the overall pattern to be 'Too generous' in sizes. The smallest size was an 'XS'. and the shoulder seam was a massive 7.25 " inch long. I tried every way I could to alter the pattern but didn't get any joy. I was, however, extremely happy with the instructions that were provided with the pattern. They were easy to follow, and they taught me everything I needed to know to eventually make a pattern of my own that actually fit me. The designs of the pattern were also excellent. This pattern would be better suited to either a qualified, or experienced pattern maker, that could actually alter the patterns accordingly. All in all, the pattern designs were great, and the instructions were brilliant, it was still worth the money and the wait. (It took about 2 weeks to arrive here in England). I will be ordering again from this company because the authenticity of the patterns were the best I've seen available. Marty Johnstone. England.

If you're looking for a pattern that you can just cut and sew, this is definitely not one. The yokes didn't match up with the body, the bust dart for the ladies front is way too low, and the fit was just really awful. The pictures and instructions were good.

My Granddaughters loved these shirts. I found the sleeves very difficult to work with and I had bought the pattern for the cuff designs. The girls had many compliments on their shirts.

Have not used the pattern yet, which is why I gave it only 4 stars. I bought the pattern for the obvious reasons: curved welt pockets and oversize cuffs and look forward to using it.

Start your project far ahead of when you want to finish it. Buy a good snap pliers.

It is nice to find some of the past I lived. So now I can use again. Thank You. With this I will put new and the old together.
