I liked the price of this book. I also like that it has numbered dots for a child to trace and get the feel of the direction in which to form the letters. Then it has three lines of tracing each letter before the child moves on to write two lines of each letter free-handed. I don't like that some of the letters are not structured the way I learned. The lower case "b," for example, has a curly queue in it rather than a tail or hook on the end. The child I am teaching has no interest in learning this like I hoped and has attention deffecit disorder. We have only finished "a" and "b" after five days. This would be a good aid for a more eager child, but I would look over some other workbooks first before purchasing to see if there is one with a more classic formation of the letters first. I wish I had a textbook from the eighties. I don't know why schools are not teaching cursive anymore. And while I would have homeschooled had i had my own children, I am glad I'm not homeschooling this child, as much as I live them.

I gave it four stars because it does not teach the traditional upper case "Q" and it does not instruct the student to start at the baseline (example i). It gives a decent amount of practice, although I would make copies for more practice. I would have passed if I would have seen more of the book.

We are using this book to teach my great granddaughter, a sixth grader to read and write cursive. Something the state of Texas chose to leave out of their curriculums several years ago. She is doing amazing with thisThis book is traditional cursive, what the kids need to learn

Great lines and dots to guide the practice, good book to practice some and come back latter with independence!

This book was exactly what I needed to re-acclimate my son to cursive writing. When his school system removed this learning requirement, it was absolutely a stupid move! So, momma had to step in and this book is a great tool to help. At minimum he needs to know how to sign his name and not print. We are well on our way!

My seven year old loved this! He wanted to teach himself at home and he actually uses this a few times a week. I ask him to practice an entire page before he is allowed to do his hour of Pokémon video game ;) good buy!

Perfect for my granddaughter who is just learning cursive. She loves to write and is anxious to learn cursive so she loves it.
