The Poetry of Pablo Neruda Kindle Edition

I love Neruda, and this thing is massive. Absolutely huge....like the New York City telephone directory from the 1980s huge. I'm talking big and thick. Each of the poems is represented in English and Spanish. It's such a tremendous resource and it is so incredibly comprehensive in regard to the scope of this great poet's work. I may just buy another copy of this as a back up...that's how much I love it. If you're trying to decide which Neruda collection to buy, let me tell you that this is the one you want.

At over 900 pages (not counting the intro, bibliography, notes, and index) this is an impressive compilation of Neruda's poetry. I am, however, disappointed that a few of my favorite poems are missing and that there are so few poems presented in the original Spanish. Those that are presented come before the English translations rather than on the facing pages. I like the dual-language facing-page layout because it helps me to improve my Spanish in a much easier way. But for anyone who has few or none of this great poet's work and who is not particularly interested in language study, there probably isn't a better choice out there for a general overview.

Epithalmium is one of the greatest love poems ever written, just one gem from a broad and vast collection of work. His love poems are all classics, but hi celebration of the human spirit and the oneness of all people are the guiding lights of his work.

If you love Pablo Neruda or are a fan of amazing, passionate poetry, you'll love this book. It gets 4 stars because some of my favorites are not in this book. This book includes both the original Spanish poems as well as the English translations for each.

It is extremely comprehensive, to be sure, but the translations really seem to miss the tone that I'm accustomed to with Neruda poetry. Also, some poems have their original Spanish in addition to the translation, and I can't quite make heads or tales of the logic behind which were or were not included?Great compendium for if you want almost every poem Neruda has ever written, but artistically leaves much to be desired.

Beautiful new copy of this comprehensive out of print collection of Neruda’s poetry from biancabooks, still in the original plastic wrapping by the publisher. Highly recommend this volume and biancabooks!

This has a vast amount of his work. The book is quick thick and has his writing in both Spanish and English. In either language the words create a nice rhythm. Not only is this a must for Neruda fans but for anyone looking to have a great time reading amazing poetry.

This is an amazing collection of Neruda's work and offers both originals and translations of his work side by side. A must have for the Neruda fan!
