For the inner teardown kid in all of us...
If you ever remember taking apart the radio, and putting it back together, only to find you had a few extra parts, this book might be for you. It serves a lot of "purposes": it's artistic in that the author clearly took time to disassemble - and lay out the constituent parts in an attractive manner. A lot of thought went into the arrangement and selection of items for display. It serves another purpose in that these are "everyday" items that many of us use - revealed in the complexity and simplicity. The seeming simplicity of many items is just a facade.Great coffee table book for your adult guests - and wonderful for the curious kid in all of us.

Book Report: I love this book and you will too.
What: This is my first ever Amazon Review. Why: I purchased this book because I don't believe 20x200 is coming back online any time soon and I needed some Todd McLellan in my life. His work is wonderful, so I suggest you get his book too - and maybe a second one for a friend that you really like.Where: This book lives open on a vintage shop desk in my house. Every couple of days I turn the page to enjoy another creative composition. It's a bound work of art - so it deserves to be displayed and not shelved.Who: You will like this book too if you enjoy picture books, tinkering, sculpture, science fairs, art, photography, the creative process or are old enough to identify most of the products photographed. How: Since I am an adult, I bought this book on amazon with my own money. When: I pre-ordered this book because I knew it would be awesome, and I was right. Seriously - buy it now - what are you waiting for?

Wonderful Book
This book is a wonderful unique coffee table book for a wide range of ages and personalities. Very interesting to flip through and makes a killer Christmas gift for someone you know either very well or an office coworker. I got this for my grandmother last Christmas and she actually referenced it to find out where the sim card is located in her cell phone! So cute <3

awesome book
I got this book for my brother for Christmas. He is a civil engineer and has always taken broken stuff apart just b/c he could. I seen this book on YouTube and thought it would be perfect for him. After getting it in the mail I had to browse a few pages of course. It is a wonderful book. Lots of awesome pictures. I is very well put together. His kids (ages 3,7,8) also enjoy looking at the book. I would highly suggest this book for anybody that is interested in how things work or loves taking things apart.

Great for the coffee table!
This book is very cool, and should be a great conversation starter when placed on your coffee table or in plain view of your guests. Before ordering it, I read a blog post where the writer had cut pages from the book and framed them for his wall; while I hate defacing a book, I can understand why he did this- every page is a work of art!Flipping through this book harkens to a time when consumer goods were not made for the serial consumer, ready to dispose of their things and "upgrade" every few years or sooner, but rather, for those who might fix their things when broken, nurturing them through the times. It reminds me of how I used to take things apart, not too destroy them, but carefully, and to figure out how they worked. Maybe you did the same, but even if you didn't, you might just love this book.

A most fascinating book. Part art, part mechanics.
What’s not to like?!?! It shows, in an artistic way, the multiple innards of today’s gadgets and equipment, in a mind boggling way. Great for casual reading. After seeing things apart, one appreciates more the fine technology that we often take for granted.

Particolare e affascinante
