In Black Market, you trade in shares on the stock market. When your shares make money, you invest your earnings in silver and gold. The player with the most gold wins the game.The theme sounds dry, but it's actually an exciting game. And you can manipulate the market to your advantage (or to the disadvantage of other players). When you sell shares in a company, the price goes down. When a particular share is in heavy demand, the price goes up.I enjoy playing board games. My favourites include Agricola, Ticket to Ride and Bohnanza. This is something completely different, and a nice addition to my collection.

This is the game that people should play instead of Monopoly. No one will fall out or get bored and everyone will have a great time. The premise sounds dry, stock broking, but it works really well and the game is full of moments of tension and excitement as everyone anticipates the market crash. Doesn't drag on and allows people of differing skill to compete against each other effectively.One caveat is that the rulebook is not the clearest but there are plenty of player aids and 'how to' videos on the internet to help. Recommend that one person knows the rules and can guide the first game.
