Very disappointed. Over the past five years, I have purchased and have used multiple SUBEA full faced snorkel masks for lap swimming in pools. I have literally spent hundreds of dollars in the past five years on these masks and I’ve always been very pleased.The one that I recently received, however, is a dud. Upon its first use, it seeps and leaks water into the mask. I have to stop on every other lap to dump water out of the mask.I have tightened the straps so tight that the mask leaves a discernible imprint on my skin. It is not a matter of me not tightening the mask sufficiently.Nor is the size of the mask the issue, because it’s the same size of prior SUBEA masks that I’ve used with no problems. I’m not sure where the seepage is occurring but something in the mask design or manufacture prevents a good, watertight “seal” between the facial skin and the rubber inside the mask.This makes for an extremely annoying experience, frustrating with having to stop periodically to dump water out of the mask! The water intrusion into the facial compartment for a brand new unit is simply unacceptable.
