Chesapeake Bay Heavy-Duty Airline Pet Crate-Small, Tan

This is a heavy duty pet kennel. We got it for our cat, in case we have to evacuate and/or ship him in cargo on a plane. Living in Hawaii, you never know when a natural disaster will strike, so we wanted to be prepared if it did.It's quite large for a single cat, and is long rather than high. Our 12 pounder can easily fit inside, turn around, and stand. The plastic clips and the metal bolts with wing nuts are well made and strong, and the carrier assembles quickly with good instructions in English included. The plastic the crate is fabricated with is heavy and thick. The pet dishes and "Live "Animal" stickers mean you have a complete package for pet plane transport, if needed. It even has predrilled holes in the very front to zip tie the door closed, which is a requirement of most airlines for cargo shipment.Two small things that make it 4.5 rather than 5 stars- it's a heavy carrier - literally. The carrier alone is almost 9lbs, and with a 12 lb cat, that's over 20 lbs to lug outside, down stairs, etc. And, the handle is plastic - which is fine in itself, but there is no metal attachment to affix it to the crate - rather, the plastic handle has two small plastic "legs" on it that tuck in to the attachment on top of the crate. I'm not sure how well these small pieces will hold up over time, due to the weight of the carrier itself.All in all, very pleased to get this for a great price, to have as a "just in case" carrier.

Dislike buying some things online but this had good reviews ..and I will be adding another one !!!! The dimensions described are correct.. looks just like picture...I am not a " handy " person but assembled in 10 minutes ( really took my time ...instructions are clear though ) this crate will easily fit 2 of my 4 cats who are larger at 20 lbs (?) When I saw only one left in stock...immediately ordered another even though it's not in my budget for this week. I really hope they get more !!!! I have 2 other crates that I want to replace. They were bought as discontinued items for cheap and definitely ARE CHEAP...... THIS new crate opens and closes easily..so if you are holding a struggling cat...and by yourself...you may stand a good chance of success at loading...it does NOT have top opening which I dislike=for heavier animals ( it always felt like it was going to come loose at the handle which would be horrible if you were away from home )...So...the best I can say...if they get back in stock or you can find same brand / manufacturer...buy this !!!

We moved from Hawaii to North Carolina and this did the job. Now he thinks it's his pup cave so I took to door off (easy-peasy) while we are not using it for travel. Perfect size for my 20 pound Jack Russell mix and super easy to keep clean.

I was looking forward to a crate with wheels because I have back problems. They were missing. I won't follow up because, in my experience, it will be such a hassle.

It’s sturdy, roomy, and meets the standards for American Airlines travel. Be aware that they will likely drill two small holes on the bottom of the front of the carrier so that they can zip tie it for extra security.

This product is awesome! Successfully moved my cats to Korea. My cats were very comfortable and relaxed in the kennel during the whole trip! Very sturdy, airline (cargo moving) approved kennel :)

I purchased this for my dog due to human error with sizing. I made a mistake while measuring which led me to purchase SMALL instead of the size I needed. I did send this back, but only because of my error. That being said, I'll tell you what impressions I got when opening this package.I immediately knew this cage was too small for my dog but it looked and felt sturdy for the intended size. The color was not off-putting like some kennels which are a weird yellow-grey that makes you wonder if it's dirty. I appreciated the fact that you could pop wheels on it and move it wherever without having to strain yourself.But, that's all I gathered from this size, as my dog wasn't going to even be able to stand in the bottom. Ooooooooops....
