After catching grief from the wife during our last neighborhood pool party for reusing empty country crock containers to serve my patented shrimp ceviche and red pepper tapenade, I thought it might be time to explore some more up-scale plating options for our next event. I knew I wanted something earthy and natural to match the picnic table in our dining room and was originally hoping to find an item constructed out of baobab wood from the Zambezi region of Namibia, but after seeing this bowl I absolutely fell in love.For starters, it is simply beautiful. Being carved from a single piece of acacia not only creates an elegant and seamless look, but also puts my mind at ease knowing I don’t have to worry about ingesting harmful toxins from whatever industrial epoxies are used to hold together the bowls of lesser quality competitors. I also love that it doesn’t have some weird asymmetric shape due to shoddy workmanship that I’m supposed to believe is intentional. If you can’t make a bowl, get out of the bowl business. This seller, however, can make one good looking bowl.It is also the perfect size. Too often I find myself digging through the cabinets unable to locate a serving dish capable of holding an adequate amount of hors d’oeuvres for a moderately sized gathering. Try putting out some pumpkin seed hummus for a sixteen person cocktail party in a 10” bowl and you’ll end up with a fistfight on your hands. Use a 14” and you run the risk of a gluttonous guest overeating and destroying the spare bathroom before he leaves. This 12” masterpiece, however, slides effortlessly into the sweet spot in between.So if you’re searching for a bowl that is as elegant as it is functional, look no further. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.

This bowl is beautiful and solid with no trace of unpleasant smells. The only down side is that it's heavy, and I was hoping to use it for a popcorn bowl. Not an easy-to-carry-with-one-hand construction, but sturdy and gorgeous nonetheless.

I have had this for a few months now and I absolutely love it! It's perfect for chopped salads and beautiful enough to serve in. It's held up to the knife really well. I keep it oiled in between uses and it's not showing any signs of aging. I am pretty harsh with it when I do use it and you can definitely see the knife marks in it. But again, it's held up so well!

I love this bowl so much we own 2 of them! One at our house and one at our condo in Florida. Just throw your ingredients in and chop away!

This bowl is so beautiful! Elegant and so well made. Carved from a single piece of wood. The finish is smooth and seamless. The bowl is thick and sturdy, with this pleasant "heaviness" to it. You can see and feel it is a quality stuff right away. I wish it were a bit deeper. It looked as it would be. But because of its thickness it is not. Not a big deal, though. It is so beautiful, I don't even care. I'll have many uses for it nevertheless. Love it!It's a stunning piece! Go and get it! You won't be disappointed.

ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. THE HANDMADE ITEM CAME COVERED IN ITS OWN MUSLIN DRAWSTRING TAGGED BAG. IT WAS SO NICE, THAT I DID NOT HAVE TO WRAP IT. IT WAS A GIFT.

This is a very beautiful bowl with a smooth finish, gowever it is much darker than in the pictures shown. I was hoping for a color to match my dining table. Think I will be returning sadly.

I am glad I made this purchase. I use it to chop and to serve my salad everyday. I buff a very thin coat of bees wax on it every couple of weeks to protect it and to help to keep very easy to clean.I wish they had smaller matching bowls in the same coloration.
