Poppy Door Knocker- Antique Bronze (Bronze)

My Craftsman cottage was built in 1900 and over the last three years, It's been renovated. I used oiled bronze hardware on the doors, house numbers, etc.. I purchased this beautiful knocker because of the design and to replace a doorbell...with two dogs, I know when someone is here. I, as just mentioned, am pleased with the look and style of the item. My only niggle--and, it's such a First World Problem--is it is not oiled bronze, it's actually an odd dark brass. Regardless, I'll be happy to have it hung.To address another concern brought up by a customer, let me say that yes, the screw does show, however a daub of paint allows it to blend in.

Installed into my existing standard holes for the previous hardware. Appears to be of sound quality. Happy with how it looks.

The knocker is solid and heavy with pretty details. It also came well packed. Unfortunately, the screw hole in the back of the base was installed at a slight angle. Therefore, when the screw is inserted through the door, the plate is doesn't lie flat against the door. There is a sizable gap. The screw also appears to be on the longish side for a standard width door.

in person it is very beautiful and unique. however, be aware that the design for this means that the screw that holds the whole thing in place will go entirely through the door so that you will see the very top nub of the screw on the inside of your door. our front door opens directly into our living room and our door is brand new solid wood so we chose not to use a door knocker after all.

This door knocker comes exactly as pictured, feels very sturdy, and comes with easy to follow installation instructions. I highly recommend it!

Looks really charming, and wasn't difficult to put on the door. We're very happy with it!
