Bought this is a gift for my husband, he has a beautiful, self standing chessboard and needed just the right pieces. This set is perfect. It is a nice match for the wood. The pieces are tall enough. The quality is exceptional and the metal makes them bright and very visible, nice weighted, feel.

I love it! When you hold it in your hand you can feel how strong is your chess army!

The tops and bottoms are molded plastic. Which was OK, but I can see the seam where the 2 halves of the plastic come together. This is a result of injection molding. Normally, a very small seam would be tried off by hand, using a small knife, prior to any paint or finish getting applied to the newly made part. This plastic at the seem, where the 2 halves come together. In the long run, this plastic (flash, in manufacturing terms) will not matter when it comes to playing chess with these pieces... it's just that for the purchase price, I had expected to see something more expertly crafted. After all, I didn't want to pay $100+ dollars for plastic chess pieces. These are better made and heavy, but the craftsmanship is missing. For example, the felt that sticks onto the base is not centered. Little things that seem like they should be done better for the price.

Love the weight and the minimal creases in the acrylic and metals makes it feel like a true luxurious set the only real complaint I have is they do not come with extra queens which I assumed (my bad) would be included for the price

I did not like the fact that I only received the pieces. The product should have come in some kind of protective box, keeping the pieces from hitting each other. There was nothing in the description regarding the lack of any kind of holding container.Otherwise, the pieces look fantastic. I will now look for a carry case that will protect these wonderful pieces. My recommendation is to look at Chess Stores directly and get the product from there if you are looking for a way to also store these chess pieces.

I especially like the weight and feel of the chess pieces.

The set is gorgeous. The pieces could be taller and heavier but other than that, the are well polished and are unique. I’m assuming they’ll last forever, however I just got them today so I don’t know that for a fact. I’d like to see the set come in a box instead of lose pieces and because of that, I’d state the value to be $79 or so instead of $149! But if you order, it’s likely you won’t be disappointed.
