A+ for Jump Math!!
I love Jump Math because it gives plenty of practice for those who need it. My son struggles with some concepts, but eventually understands once he has completed all the pages on that particular concept. A+ for Jump Math!!

Homeschool Math Lessons
I LOVE how this math uses descriptive words for comparison, and in word problems. I am VERY impressed how it incorporates speech and language in the math lessons. My son is enjoying the lessons. I know he is catching the concepts and learning as we go along.

Nice workbook. Simple directions and illustrations
Nice workbook. Simple directions and illustrations. Might be too easy for advanced kids - my daughter who is going into first grade in a highly regarded California charter school had already completed the first half of Book 1.1 in her regular schoolwork, and had seen many principles in the second half of book. Great for summer retention and introduction to more complex patterns, sorting data and new methods for measurements.

An awesome resource
As an educator and a homeschooler of a 7 year old child I performed a tremendous amount of research before selecting the Jump Math series for my son. The text are deceptivly simplistic while at the same time exceptionally skilled at teaching kids to learn and love math. As an educator I see the value of minimizing color and distracting graphics for children. Publishers typically like to dazzle kids with graphs and color rich text books and as such to the detriment of the learner they fail to follow current brain research on how kids learn. The Jump Math is all grayscale so they completely remove this learning barrier for kids. Additionally it teaches math concepts step by step, in a hands on manner, using a great amount of games. There are literature connections for each unit and an expansive coverage of benchmark topics. I am located in the USA and have no problem using this Canadian resource (with the exception to the reference to Canadian coins in the unit on money. But that's an easy fix). I love these resources as a teacher but more importantly my son loves using Jump Math as a learner. I will continue to use Jump Math forever (or as long as they keep making it). The teacher's resources are equally impressive. Great math resource written by actual intelligent mathematicians and not big profit oriented text book conglomerates. This company is so awesome and want kids to learn so badly they even make a lot of free resources available on their website (jumpmath.com). Awesome resources!!!

It is a great way for your child to build up his confidence in mathematics. It starts easy (extremely easy according to me) so that your child does not get discouraged. I bought the the 2.1, 2.2, 3.1, 3.2 series and I am so glad that I did. The first time I used it with my son, he gave me the look - mom, not math again. But once he started the first page - and started to realize that he CAN do it, he went on to do 12 more pages on his own, without any encouragement on my behalf. Everyday after school for two years, he asked for his Jump Math books to practice. Any exercise book that makes your child want to continue learning without you having to coax them is worth the money. The books repeat a concept on many pages, in many different ways. I give JUMP Math a two thumbs up and so does my son!

Absolutely one of the best resources
This book has many qualities which I consider important for children.1. No distraction (no colours or fancy pictures). Only line drawings essential to the concept are given.2. It proceeds gradually revisiting the topics frequently with increasing sophistication (the spiral method)3. Excellent for self-learning: I gave this books to my 6 yr old and she absolutely loves it. She has started working mostly on her own.4. Has a huge teaching material specificially designed for this book all for free. Please visit the website. All these point to the fact that people who designed this know math (John Mighton has a Ph.D in math), have lots of experience in teaching children (the book has been revised incorporating classroom learning experience) and most importantly, have succeeded in imparting an enthusiasm for the subject. On the web, some have criticised this as too basic. I have to disagree there. In elementary school, imparting a sense of enthusiasm should be the primary goal of teaching. In that this book succeeds better than any I've seen.

My Smart child requires constant help with this book as it challenges your thought process by throwing things at you sideways backwards and upside down constantly I believe it's to get your brain thinking and working in different ways but would be very difficult for a child without adult supervision in my opinion and I feel it is not for a slow grade 2 child

We love these books and purchase them every year for our children. We find they are a great way to bridge the gap during the summer as they keep our children's mind active and alert. They are very user friendly and explain the exercises very well. Ordering with Amazon was easy, delivery was on time and the cost is very reasonable. Orders yours now!
