Smartshield 18604 Gel

I looked all over for a sunscreen that was not lotion based to use on my face. Lotion based sunscreens tend to make me break out, so I thought I'd give this a try. The good news is that as I'd hoped, this sunscreen does not seem to make me break out. The only warning I have is be very careful in using it anywhere near your eyes. It has alcohol in it and thus can sting if even near your eyes and not actually in them. All in all I'm pleased with the product. Wish the price was a bit better, but worth it to avoid both sunburn and breakouts!

I have been looking for truly oil-free sunscreen all my life, and this sunscreen gel is the best I have found so far. People who are really sensitive to that oily sunscreen sensation will probably still notice a little tiny bit of a greasy feeling, but I've come to the conclusion that sunscreen is inherently oily-feeling. The worst thing about this sunscreen gel is the smell of evaporating alcohol; anyone who has ever had a cocktail thrown in their face knows what I mean. If you're going to use it on your face, don't load up all at once, and make sure you're near a fan turned on high so that it'll dry as fast as possible.

I was first introduced to this sunscreen by a fishing guide. It is a clear gel. I immediately liked how it seemed to "dry" on the skin as you rubbed it in. There was absolutely no greasy residue what-so-ever which is a huge pet peave of mine with sunscreens especially in a beach environment where sand sticks to anything. Not so with the SmartShield Gel. It is a little on the pricy side though and difficult to find hence purchasing it here on Amazon.

Great sunscreen if you like light non greasy stuff on your face. I cannot wear heavy oily sunscreen cause it makes me break out. If you don't mind a light alcohol smell at first contact, this is a good sunscreen.

This really is a good product. My husband has sun sensitive skin on his face and behind the ears. This has been very helpful this summer in protecting his skin. Dries non greasy, and good thing, since he works in the dirt.

Wish I could find more of this gel. Great for fly fishing!

I've been searching for years for a sunscreen that leaves a minimal film on my skin. This is the only sunscreen that fits the bill. I highly recommend it.
