Fun Book!
This book is awesome!! Not any actual diets I would do (Except Gloria Swansons eating organic), but it is a fun read if you love old Hollywood stars.

Good information
I liked the content and info, just wish author had gone a little deeper with the habits, diet and exercise, of some of the stars. Overall very nice

Clever and quick read about fad diets throughout the decades
Amusing and quick read about the various fad diets through the decades. From the banana and milk diet to the grapefruit diet, this book looks at Hollywood starlets and what they supposedly did to stay slim. Lamb chops, for some odd reason, seemed to be big in these fad diets. Although lamb chops are great, eating nothing but chops and pineapple for days on end sounds unappetizing.Although we have come far in terms of understanding nutrition, we still seem to be stuck in some sort of infinity loop in which fad diets continue to thrive. Interesting tidbit, Gloria Swanson helped to make yoga popular.

All Found On The Internet
It is a cute little book that you can finish in about a day, but, I know it would be relatively easy to find a lot of the information contained on the internet. It may be nice if you need a quick reference for a fad diet of the 20's, 30's, 40's or 50's. What really bugs me is that Slater has Marilyn working out with Indra Devi. There is absolutely no proof that the two women even met, let alone worked out together. There is a picture circulating from 1960 that claims to be Marilyn working out with Devi but it is actually Eva Gabor. We do know that Marilyn had her book and was a devoted yogi but again, no proof actually connecting her to Devi and Devi certainly never mentioned training her. This casts doubt on the entire book for me. This is very easily found out information but the author couldn't be bothered to find it? Seems like Slater copied and pasted her way to a book deal.

I loved the concept
I loved the concept, but the execution was so-so. Full of anecdotes with no real background. Not a bad read, but could be better.
