Absolute beast of a machine, quite brilliant
Disclaimer, I am upgrading from a Macbook Air Mid 2012 so you can imagine compared to that this Macbook Pro 13 inch Core i5 is an absolute beast. With that said even without comparisons this machine is really good. Its quad core make this a very powerful and capable machine and will make light work of tasks for the average content creator. The integrated graphics isn't anything to right home about so don't expect to do any serious gaming but the Retina display is absolutely beautiful making watching high res videos a nice viewing experience. The sound quality is also very good, it's loud, clear and surprisingly rich for a laptop that size. The battery life is really good and does live up to Apple's claim of 10 hours. The typing experience is ok, with the keys giving a decent amount of key travel. Features like the finger print reader which can be used to unlock your Mac and used with Apple Pay and Siri which can be used for voice commands are a real handy bonus and gives some extra convenience. Many people find the touch nothing more than a gimmick but I think it's a nice touch (no pun intended).Something to note is that I bought the 128GB model and you'd be surprised how quickly this get filled if up so bear this in mind. Also these machines only have 2 connection ports (2 USB type C ports) so you'd have to purchase and carry around with you a hub or a dongle if you wish to connect other legacy ports. I personally don't mind this because it's actually quite convenient for my home desktop set up. When at home I connect my Mac to my LG monitor using just one cable which give picture, sound and also charges the Mac, no need for a HDMI cable or a power cable. When I'm going out I can simple unplug the single cable and take my portable Macbook with me.Macs are generally expensive so whether you're getting value for money will depend on a few factors. I personally bought this because I wanted to upgraded to a much more powerful machine, one that was pretty much future proof and will last me a long time performance wise. Unless you're willing to build a Hackingtosh, Macs are the only way you can officially get Mac OSX operating system (which offers a brilliant user experience). The Macbook Pro is well built, has a nice sleek design and slim form factor. The space grey is also a very nice touch. So for the reasons outlined above I think this Macbook Pro is brilliant and so for me well worth it. I can confidently recommend it. Hope this helps.

Love it
Pros: Screen, touch pad, touch gestures, Touch ID, the fancy touch screen on the bottom (just above the keyboard), the screen quality, speakers and battery life is surprisingly good.Cons: Honestly? I haven't found any, apart from the price.

You get what you pay for
I love apple products but after many years I felt I deserved an upgrade on my old 2011 model. This does not disappoint. Completes tasks with ease, very easy on the eye and incredibly user friendly. I look forward to working on this for years to come.

A big step forward for the MacBook Pro base model
This 1.4 GHz quad-core model is so far advanced from its predecessor, the 2017 2.3 GHz duo-core, which I also own. Check out both models at EveryMac.com to compare, and see YouTube video reviews, too. The touch bar sign-in is a very useful innovation at this level.

Nice stylish laptop.
Got this to replace my 2011 MacBook Air and I am so happy I did, I hadn’t realised how old my machine was until I replaced it for this. It’s so easy to use, unlocks with my Apple Watch, I copy something on my iPad or iPhone and I can paste it into the MacBook.Touch ID works great and after the novelty of the touchbar I am finding that I am using it more than I thought I would. It’s so neat and light, the battery lasts for ages and it looks good.Overall very happy.

Good laptop
Very good product overall, the only thing that they could have adjust is the battery life.
