Tunnock's Milk Chocolate Tea Cakes 36 x 24g (36 x 24g)

A friend brought back these teacakes from Scotland for me and I was immediately addicted so I knew I had to get my hands on my own- these tea cakes are absolutely DELISH and are exactly like the ones my friend gave me from abroad, not too sweet and wonderful when frozen! I ordered a box of 36 and have already eaten more than half myself, they're also packed in boxes of 6 so they're a cute gift to give to friends and family! A few of then did arrive a tad bit smushed but the majority are in perfect shape and not melted; all of mine were also fresh as they had an expiration date of Dec 2025. On my way to order some more now :)

Quality is excellent

I don’t recall where I saw the recommendation to try these, and found them on Amazon. Each item is individually foil wrapped, and one must take care in handling, as they are super soft. These are delicious, and should be taken in small bites. There is a super thin outside chocolate skin, just enough there to provide the slightest crunch. This coating covers an airy cream filling (they call it ‘marshmellow’ and it is so much better than the dry stuff we find here) atop a light cookie almost wafer. Highly recommend, and this order comes with multiple boxes, with six candies in each box — enough that you would feel good about making gifts to your closest friends.

We recently took a trip to Scotland where we tried Tunnocks Tea Cakes for the first time and they were delicious!!! I was thrilled to find them available on line and couldn’t wait to receive my order. We were so terribly disappointed with the box we received. The tea cakes tasted stale. The marshmallow which is normally so creamy, light and frothy was dry and flat with a glue like texture. I looked at the sell by date and was shocked to see that it was less than two months away from expiration. I’m not sure exactly what the shelf life of these tea cakes actually is but I would be really surprised to find out that it is only about three months (considering from the date I ordered to the sell by date on the box. I felt cheated. I feel like I was given old product even though it was sold by the sell by date it clearly was not fresh. What a disappointment!!

I love these! Living in a warmer climate I keep them in the fridge and they are perfect!

Why do YOU choose to buy a candy you've never heard of before? Me? It's a FB group. Yep. I learned about Tunnock's in the Scotland's Wild Haggis Animal Discovery Group. It's such a fun group, and finally I just had to try these. Turns out they are good! Okay, they are not as good as hubby's homemade fudge, but they are, in fact, good. They are certainly worth a try.
