Installed two new Toto toilets and started having water hammer bang every time either toilet shuts off water after a flush. I have installed four Toto toilets in two houses and every one of them causes water hammer when shutting water off.Bought this Sioux Chief water hammer arrestor to mitigate water hammer bang caused by master bathroom toilet first. It is very easy to install, took about 15 minutes. Once installed it works really well. The big bang after each flush is completely gone. Quite impressive really. So impressed, I ordered another one for my downstairs Toto as well.

This was extremely easy to install and worked like a charm to stop the water hammering that was driving me mad. The product received does not look like the advertised photo but don't let that fool you. Worth every penny.

It didn't really stop the water hammer I'm having with the toilet, but may have improved it? I'm not sure its necessarily the fault of this arrestor, I think there is a more fundamental issue with my cold water pipe in this particular bathroom as I also get hammers from cold water in the sink and shower. As for the arrestor itself, was very easy to install, and is out of the way so I honestly forget its there.

Quick and easy to install. Fits right between the hose from the washer and whatever you've got it hooked onto. Works just as advertised. Made in USA. I spent the extra few bucks for the Made in USA model. Not sure that's going to matter, but going with a brand that cares about their reputation makes me feel better about it lasting.Would definitely do it again and recommend.

Completely took care of the hammering on the toilet would recommend recommend two others

I recently installed a new Toto toilet in our 1/2 bathroom..immediately discovered the fill valve shutoff on this model Toto goes from full-flow to zero as quick as a solenoid; ie, I’ve got water hammer! So, gave this hammer arrestor a try (not expecting much), and to my surprise it completely eliminated the troubling ‘bang’ on shutoff..yay! Just to mention, I’ve got high water pressure in my house (82psi).. I’ll be adding a whole house pressure reducer soon.I did just install this..will update if things change over time.FYI, the one I got appears to be stainless steel not copper as seen in photo.

I start having water hammering in one of the bathroom toilets after some plumbing repair. The device came in a bubble plastic bag without any packaging or stickers, making it impossible to distingush whether it is a genuine Sioux Chief part of some cheap knockoffs. The installation is simple and easy enough. The hammering is reduced but not totally arrested, without reducing the water flow slightly using the input shutoff valve as well. It was cheap enough that is it not worth the hassle of returning it to the vendor. As for reliability or durability, only time will tell.

The warehouse send me the Sioux Chief 660-GTR1B instead, this is the stainless instead of the brass and copper. I installed it because I didn’t want to go through with the replacement so if the warehouse is short on inventory, I have the part.
