The trench knife featured a two-sided blade and a "knuckle-duster" grip to protect the fingers and make it harder to knock the knife loose from a soldier's hand. Another interesting feature was the "skull-crusher" knob in the pommel of the knife handle that could also be used as a secondary weapon to stun an enemy combatant. The classic U.S. trench knife continued to be used by some U.S. troops in World War II. Our replica of the classic U.S. 1918 Trench Knife is a proper tool in its own right, as well as an attractive homage to an important part of military history. It features a two-sided blade, like the original, that's made of stainless steel and is 5.75 inches in length. Overall length of the knife is 11.4 inches. The handle is made of a zinc alloy and is engraved with "1918 U.S." to hearken back to the original. The knuckle-duster grip and skull-crusher are still there, and the trench knife comes with a carrying sheath.
