I use it to cut soft and hard metal wire for model building. I tried a few other popular brands for model work and this is the only one I found which does not get damaged edges from hard steel wire.I recommend this to others

These cutters are good in a pinch but I expected them to be higher quality. The cutting edges do not line up every time so you have to be careful when clamping down on the cutting surface. Other than that it is a pretty good product for the price.

After having to take my daughter back to the orthodontist several times to have wires cut I found these and decided to give them a try. I am so thankful that I did! She is able to cut the wires herself and I have not heard a single complaint about wires since I purchased them. I highly recommend these to anyone with braces or who has kids with braces. They are a necessity.

Very disappointed. These wire cutters may be ok for flimsy metal or plastic, but not for cutting hard wires used for braces. I purchased them to trim excess wire and they worked once - and broke the second time. They're actually pretty dangerous because the metal on the wire cutters broke in my mouth. Luckily the shard was still slightly attached to the rest of the blade, otherwise I could have had metal stuck in my gums or elsewhere. Now I have a broken, useless pair of wire cutters. They may be ok as a one-time-use product, but anything more than that is a gamble.

Great price. Edge requires significant strength to cut through ortho wire or band and loop wire.

These are good probably for very thin wire but they were no match for surgical wire

It works well as emergency wire cutter for my braces... Recommended

Not much to say. Solid, heavy, and works as advertised. I bought this when I had braces in case anything stuck out after I got back from the orthodontist. I only had to use it a few times to clean up the tiniest poking wire in the back.
