Test set good, cord not so great.
Works well with alligator clips, however RJ11 on cable does not work, sometimes wiggling it will make it work. Unit itself is good quality, just cord is not of good quality.

Lots of features for the price!!!
Lots of features for the price. I especially like the speakerphone.Also when on a live dsl circuit, you can hear it buzzing in the background while on AND off hook, but going off hook does NOT take the dsl circuit down, but it still buzzes, so you KNOW you are on a live circuit. VERY nice!!!The voltage display is also really awesome, easy to see if there are issues with the line!!!Like the built in bed of nails and RJ111 with my set. I do wish there was a female RJ11 port on the back of the set, as this would allow me to avoid the RJ11 coupler I now have to carry.

Battery holder!
Great features but the batteries won't stay in contact with the metal spring clips/contacts. I've tried bending /prying the spring steel of them out a little but doesn't work. It's a real pain to have to remove the long screw and mess with the batteries to get the phone to turn on.

Paid ofr itself the first week
Great replacement test set for one I had for over 10 years. Paid for itself by helping me troubleshoot a problem that had been vexing me for a while. The built in volt/current readings and the touch tone capture will be helpful tools.

At first I had my doubts but this thing is pretty cool. More bells and whistles than the normal set. Looks a little goofy but has held up well to day to day abuse so far. Best test set with speakerphone for the price.

Nice features but speaker not loud enough. Thought I could save some money but going to have to go back to a fluke.
