A great scoop! I keep it in my container of dog food to make feed time easy. Very sturdy.

The first thing I noticed when I got the scoop is that it is much smaller than I thought it would be. That doesn't bug me though, since I will mostly be using it to fill popcorn bags, and the smaller scoop actually works better. If you're wanting something besides a popcorn/candy/flour scoop, you may want to go the next size up!Other than that, this scoop is fantastic. It's heavy duty, and looks great. It will probably last me a lifetime before it breaks.I don't stick it in the dishwasher (take a look at other reviews around here to see why). I clean it by hand, and it's fine. It is small enough, it only takes just a second to scrub clean anyways. The aluminum cast has the look and feel of the KitchenAid bowls -- something that they specifically tell you NOT to stick in the dishwasher!

If you put it in the dishwasher the silver color comes off and it’s a dull plastic grey color still works fine

I like it, but it is WAY smaller than what I believed it to be. I bought it to scoop popped popcorn into buckets, but a I would be there for a while trying to fill one bucket up. I am buying a bigger scoop for that. I am however buying another one of this little scoop to keep inside of my canisters for flour and sugar. Based on other reviews, I will not wash it in the dishwasher though

These scoops are much bigger than I anticipated, but that's a good thing. I was having trouble finding scoops big enough for scooping the pet food out into a larger container, and this proved to be worth every penny I spent and then some. They are very sturdy and I doubt that I can or will ever break these like the plastic ones that I had before. They are smooth with no burrs like some I have seen, and they have rounded handles so they don't cut your hands while scooping. I accidentally dropped one and not even a dent!

Just returned this to Amazon, glad they were the actual vendor, else another vendor may not take it back.I wrote that it was DEFECTIVE since the description says it is Heavy Duty. Never got to use it; put it in the dishwasher to get the darn sticker residue off (had already hand-washed it twice), it came out all grey-black and left black residue on your hands. I DID save it so I could return it.Why did I even get this given the 1-star reviews? Well...I was ordering a popcorn machine for a party and this scoop came up on the Amazon page as "Other customers ALSO bought this item, buy them together" so although I researched popcorn machines for an hour, I thought a simple metal scoop was a no-brainer and only bought the scoop because it was an Amazon suggestion. I should've clicked further and seen the 1-star reviews.Regardless of reading the reviews, there should be a disclaimer or sticker stating it is not dishwasher safe. (Even still, I don't think it would survive too many hand-washings with your typical dish/scour sponge, even the no-scratch variety).This is NOT heavy duty. I guess there's simply no replacement for stainless-steel or pure aluminum. This is CAST-aluminum.

With raw oats, this scoop holds almost a perfect 1/2 cup. It is solid and has a nice weight. As others have mentioned, wash by hand only. It will not be friends with an automatic dishwasher.A hole in the handle would be, well, handy, but unfortunately this scoop does not have that feature. Other than that, it is a fine scoop and one I would purchase again.

This is a nice little scoop, however, I bought it to scoop oyster crackers out of a jar and it's just a little too big. I am able to use it if I tilt the jar. The quality is very good. I have only hand-washed it so don't know what happens if it is washed in the dishwasher.
