Mogul Base Socket Extenders
These are manufactured of a plastic material for the body, with metal inside for the socket. Body is definitely not ceramic (even though the word "ceramic" is used in the specifications section for the item), so not suitable for high heat. I am using with high output LEDs that generate little heat, so should be just fine. Extends socket 3-1/2 inches.

Do NOT buy…product unsafe
The pictures speak for themselves. Big fire hazard. This was with a 500w bulb in use for roughly 20 hours over two weeks. Spring the extra $10 for a porcelain extender. These will overheat quickly.

Worked great for this application
Worked great for this application. They aren't as thick and heavy as the ceramic kind. Not sure how they'll handle lots of heat - but for an LED application they seem to be fine. SLIGHTLY shorter than the big ceramic kind I had before - which in this case was okay. If you're using it for a high heat application like Metal Halide, you may want to consult the manufacturer for acceptable rated temps/applications. 3 pack price was good!
