What hasn't been said about the lowly screw? It's been a concept around since at least 100BC and considered one of the "simple machines" that made civilization possible. History lesson over.This flat top screw is designed for countersunk application. Brass is often a good choice where moisture may be a factor: brass does not rust. If the screw is going to be visible and looks matter I think brass looks nicer than steel.But brass is not as strong as steel and the slots for the Philips head are more easily stripped than with steel. When I use brass screws like these in hardwood I drill a pilot hole. This serves 2 purposes: it makes it easier to it in and makes splitting the wood far less likely.These screws are exactly what I expect in a short flat head brass screw. I think Snug has done a good job on these and the few I needed so far have worked perfectly. Because these are giving me all I want from this commodity type product I'm giving them 5 stars.

I always seem to end up with brass-plated iron screws, thinking they're brass, and they inevitably rust after a few seasons outside. Solid brass is far more anticorrosive, so I'm off to replace my screen-door hinge screws with these. These are a bright gleaming brass with a good Phillips opening that fits nicely with my screwdriver. The screws come in a plastic pouch which isn't resealable so the screws will be offloaded into a small hard plastic bin that I have for that purpose.

Very high quality brass wood screws. some brass Cruz have soft heads with poorly forms Phillips in sets and badly road and cut threads. Not these. These are outstanding quality particularly considered the considering the reasonable cost.

Perfect for small jobs, or to flush out a toolbox, these screws are machined nicely and work perfectly. I have many left over from a recent small job and I'm happy to have this add on to my toolbox. We have many Snug Fastener screws, and they arrive in an envelope or tub you'll want to put in some other container. Excellent.

I've never paid a lot of attention to most hardware but usually just go with price...not super expensive but also not the cheap stuff. This is good quality at a lower price than usually found locally. Solid brass isn't easy to find especially at this price point. Nice
