I Liked It!
I was hesitant to use this at first, but my best friend told me it would be worth it because I wouldn't have to spend so much time cutting up my baby's food. I'm a single mom and I'm just starting to introduce my baby girl to solid foods. Her pediatrician has warned me to mash up the food so that she can't choke on it. Before, I used a Cuisinart food processor, but it virtually turned the food into liquid. What I really like about this Onbi Baby food smasher is that it keeps a texture to the food. It sounds gross, but I compare it to chewing your baby's food yourself before giving it to them. It's a very natural way to feed your baby. Now what I really wish is that you could use it on harder items like chicken. Unfortunately, it just won't smash anything other than soft food like bananas or cooked vegetables. However, my pediatrician told me this is a good thing because it actually acts as a safety device because it only lets through food that your baby can really chew and eat. It's a little confusing to take it apart into 3 pieces, but, once you do, it's surprisingly easy to wash. This is one thing I really applaud the maker for.

doesn't work so well
It works great only with very soft food like banana, soft avocado, well steamed vegetables and so...that you can mash with a spoon anyway..if the food a bit hard, it won't work at all :(

Not as useful as I'd hoped!
I thought i would really like this, but i find it easier to use what i had been doing--just mashing things in a bowl or using the food processor. Bowls wash better than this, and some things just won't go thru this well, like celery. I do take it with me to restaurants so if there's something she can eat that needs smooshed, I can use this. you can use it as a bowl, which is nice. though, i wish the lid was an actual lid and would seal. I've rubberbanded it, & it still leaks. I gave it 4 stars, because it does what it is supposed to, i think my expectations were just too high!

Great for baby on the go!
I was very hesitant to get this at first because I figured the plastic would not be able to mash my baby's food well enough. It works surprisingly well on soft foods like bananas and avocados. I did get greedy and try it on an apple, that didn't go over too well. It recommends cooking the food first if it is a hard fruit or vegetable. I was able to use it pretty well for macaroni and cheese too.The thing I didn't like about it is that it didn't come with a very thorough instruction manual. This product is able to separate into 3 pieces, but you think it's going to break when doing it. Rest assured that it won't break, you just snap each piece off one by one and you are left with three pieces to put in the dishwasher.I think that this product really comes in handy when traveling or going to a restaurant. I can't bring a food mill or my Mash and Serve with me to a restaurant, but this one works well and I can take it home without a mess because it closes up.

My preferred food smasher
I have another food smasher at home and don't like it as much, it's a pain to clean and adds to my pile of dishes. And I found out quickly that I didn't need a smasher that could serve an adult family of four. This one's just the right size, I fill it up with a scoop or two of food, clasp down to smash it, and then rinse it out. From preparing the food to rinsing it off takes about a minute.I was a bit concerned that it wasn't made of metal, but the material has a strong, durable feel and holds up well to frequent use. The handgrip design has no problem smashing food down to a mush that my baby enjoys.I would say if you're in a daycare setting or manage a room full of small children, go with one of the bigger food smashers to create servings in bulk quantities. Otherwise if you're buying this for your own baby/kids this is the perfect smasher for a family--easier to use and much easier to clean.

Good Device
This is an interesting tool for making baby food. It works well on soft foods like pasta and soft fruits, but it's definitely not something you can put chicken or something hard like that in.>We personally like taking it on trips or even a picnic at the park. We can kind of feed our baby what we eat after putting the food through this item.> For the price I think it's worth buying as it's easy to clean and makes portions that are perfect for babies.
