The wood is unfinished and the end cuts are not sanded...its strong but kinda chinsy-looking

The product is well made and pretty sturdy, but the screws are not. I had to use some of my own drywall screws. You really want to make sure you anchor it into a stud, but hanging it and the shelf itself are really easy and well made.My cat wasn’t very fond of it, I think the hammock part was to flexible for her and she would prefer a solid shelf instead, but that’s more of a commentary about my cat than the shelf.It’s a great deal for the money. Just make sure you hang it correctly with the right hardware so it doesn’t pull out of the wall. Super easy to install!

I did end up liking this product. Upon first opening the product I did feel like it was not the best quality. I have a dog and a cat and This was to give the cat somewhere to be without the dog being able to reach her. I was worried that the dog might want to follow her up and it would not be sturdy enough to take the weight. The assembly process was easy will minimal damage to wall with holes. Would probably purchase again if it looked a little less DIY but ultimately happy with the product. (did dog did challenge it and everything remained secure)

I don't have big cats. I have two small females. Still, in two days of barely any use the shelves are sagging off of the wall.Right away when they climb it, the wooden part starts bending and it looks pretty unsafe.

I bought this when it was first released for $22 (since then the price has increased) and it is a great cat hammock at that price. I installed it as a centerpiece for my DIY cat tree and my boys seem to love it. One critique is that I wish the brackets were wider and used 4 mounting points each so I could then mount them under the wooden steps like a shelf vs. above. The current brackets are too weak to mount below and will cause wobbling. Overall pretty satisfied

The cats had to be placed on the shelf to test it out. We have two 8lb kitties and a 15lb cat. Both 8lb cats have since happily sought the hammock as a mid day nap spot. The 15lb cat has not, and there was a little creaking when he stepped on it. I was very uneasy about putting any weight on the provided brackets, especially since they attach to the top of the shelf instead of cradling the back and underside. I might change them out later.

I have two cat (8lb and 14lb) and the small one can walk on this without issues. The big one is a chonk and makes the whole thing sag when he walks on it. It's decent and very cheap, but could use some more sturdiness.

Beside a visible pen/marker mark on the fabric, the product is fine. Given, there's not much finesse to it. You could really just make this for less with not too much effort. That said, if you don't want to make a shelf, definitely buy this.
