Fits as described
Fits as described. I never knew how easy a boat was supposed to turn.

Perfect fit. Be very careful when measuring
Perfect fit. Be very careful when measuring. Rule of thumb: take a tape measure and measure from the helm-gear where you want the cable's plastic sheath to terminate and add 2 feet.

NOT ENOUGH FRICTION FOR OVER 50hp. READ
READ THIS BEFORE YOU BUY! You need to know this before you buy this cable. I wish to god the listing would have stated this cause you need to know. IF YOU HAVE A BIGGER OUTBOARD you need a TIGHTER cable. Maybe the no feed back version. This cable is amazing don’t get me wrong but it’s to loose for a motor bigger than 50 hp. I have a 90hp and it moves as easy as it does with no cable attached. The problem is if the motor is tilted up some and you turn the wheel a bit when you let go the motor will fall the rest of the way into the turn. Under any throttle at all letting go of the wheel will throw you into a sharp turn. Again the cable is silky smooth and an awesome buy for the correct motor but there is not enough friction for a motor over 50hp

I had purchased it for a 1991 javelin boat, Did a little modification, not too difficult, but hey , for the price, it was well worth it. At least the boat is not just collecting dirt. :)

Fit my Boat and worked to replace my old steering cable
This worked very nicely for replacing my old steering cable assembly that had rusted into a non-functional state. I was able to put this in having never replaced a steering cable before. The boat I put it on was a 14 foot Glasspar with and 80 HP Merc. I will say one thing it is very important to use white grease on the end piece to make sure it fits into tube on the engine mount, using a lot of grease makes it much easier. I used a youtube video to guide me while replacing the steering cable, seach youtube for "boat steering cable replacement" if you have never done this procedure before.
