New experience for me.
Been brewing teas in my press.I find some pieces will get past the screen if you re-brew multiple times as most do with teas. You get a better flavor brewing bulk teas over using a tea bag, the tea is allowed to expand and better release its flavor.I will leave the old tea in press and add a tad more of 1 or more items into the mix and brew each day for up to a week then toss out.Been ordering my teas direct from China and pay about 1/2 of what local tea shops charge, but the wait is rather long.

Functional and inexpensive coffee maker
I bought two of these for some group camping situations where I needed to make large amounts of coffee without electricity. They worked quite well and I was pleased at how easy it was to clean up. The screen is a little flimsy at the edges (hence the 4 stars... I'd actually give it a 4.5 if such a rating were possible), so you will get grounds in your coffee if you press the plunger down too quickly, but with slow and steady pressure you will get a reasonable amount of good coffee is a relatively short period of time.

I would be upset if I paid more than $10
Got this for $10 to use at work. It makes coffee, yes, but it really is a cheap imitation. The stem cam a little bent. The straining assembly comes unscrewed easily. The screen is not reinforced around the edge and it does let some grains slip by when pressing. Also, the cover is poorly designed. The way the glass spout and cover are shaped the coffee wants to run down the side of the pot and spill everywhere! This can be avoided by pressing down on the cover above the handle with your thumb so it pops the cover up a bit where the spout is. Then, if you pour quick enough you won't spill (much). Needless to say, I always have a folded paper towel under this press for spills and runoff. I'm pretty cheap so I'll make do, but I much prefer the more expensive Bodum presses - less grounds in my cup and less coffee on my desk.

Great First French Press
I've had this French Press for almost a year now and I wouldn't have asked for a better petite size French Press especially for its price.I'm really sad that I broke the bottom of the glass but I will be purchasing from them again when I need a French Press to give as a gift to somebody. I will now be moving onto a bigger size French Press. They delivered it safely and unbroken. Great for College Students. Makes about 1 serving.

Works, but drools.
I wish there were a way I could rate this 2.5 stars. As a French press, it's fine; the problem is that it gets pretty drippy when you're pouring a cup. Have paper towels handy, especially if you're making a liter at a time. That said, a *lot* of French presses have this problem; I suspect it's the spout design. Thus, this is adequate, but not good, and I suggest trying to find a less drooly French press.

High hopes...crushed
While this French press seemed like the answer to my coffee prayers, after a few uses and hand washing the glass carafe cracked. The crack did not go all the way through, so I continued to use it. However, after a few more uses, the mesh screen became dislodged and now I get almost off of the coffee grounds used for brewing into my cup of coffee.

Simple and inexpensive. It just works.
For the price it is does exactly what it's supposed to do. You put coffee grounds in the bottom, add water, and plunge. The coffee is great and the you can enjoy about 4 mugs of coffee with each batch. The handle is strong and the glass is easy to clean. The plunger is a bit flimsy, but it works just fine. I wish there was some plastic to cushion the bottom. I can see this thing breaking from being placed too hard on the granite countertop, but for the price I'll just buy another one. It is really great and very simple by design.

Fun to use
Was introduced to the cafetiere in Ireland. Came home and had to have one--coffee does taste more flavorful. Only thing I didn't like about this one is you can't remove the carafe and the glass bottom has no protection. My husband created a wooden base for it to sit in when we use it, hopefully to prevent breakage.
