Seriously sharp blades
I had never before used a straight-edge razor, and I decided to go with the blades designed for the toughest job.Well, that was a mistake on my part. I ended up cutting myself several times. No fault of the blades. They are amazing. I just did not have the coordination to shave with a straight-edge razor.I ended up purchasing Feather Artist Club's safest razor (Soft Guard). They work great, and I did not cut myself -- but I still had to be very careful. It turns out that the sharpness of the blades are identical between the two model blades (in fact, all of their various model blades designed for a straight-edge blade holder have equal sharpness). The blades differ only in how much of the blade extends from the holder. If you are new (like me) to using a straight-edge razor, then I suggest that you start off with either the Soft Guard or the Super Guard blades. The Pro blades are unforgiving. If you do not have any experience with them, you will cut yourself, probably several times. As careful as you try to be, you will still cut yourself if you are new to a straight-edge and use the Pro blades.I get 15 to 20 shaves out of the Soft Guard blades, and they work great. Although I have trouble around my chin and my mustache, and usually use a disposable razor to complete those areas.

WOW! THESE ARE TERRIFIC!
Smooth, comfortable, sharp, and shave just as close as the 'Professional' blades without the guards. As a matter of fact, I just got one of the closest shaves I've ever had on my first go with these. They glide, they're fast, they don't snag or buck or get caught on your skin if you'r not holding the razor just so, and they leave your skin without irritation. They take the stress out of shaving with an open razor. Great for getting into close tight areas, folds and details without worry! I love them! What a great shave! And don't be fooled by the guard - these are not 'beginners' blades. Beginners are going to get cut up good with these if they are not methodical. Treat yourself to a spa-like shave; try these blades - you'll love them too!

The Japanese Have Done it Again
I've been proper wetshaving for about 5 years now, starting with DE razors and just in the last year, switching over to straights. I have a few proper straight edge blades, and also a Dovo Shavette, which is similar in functionality to the Feather in that they both use a disposable blade. Here are the main differences. For starters, the Feather has a lot more bulk to it. Heavy. It is actually heavier than my Dovo straightedge razor! Another difference is the mechanism. The Dovo shavette uses a little insert into the frame that holds the blade in place, where the Feather uses somewhat of a different style, pinching the blade in place. Trust me, I've used this razor a few dozen times and have had zero issues with the blade moving around. They tote that the scales (handle) are rubber, but my technique doesn't require me to handle the scales, so it's not an issue. The last thing to mention are the blades. Yes, they are a bit spendy. Yes, they are Feather which means they are 1. surgically sharp and 2. long lasting. Each blade gives me about 10 shaves. They also have these interesting ridges on them that I believe keep you from cutting yourself.Overall, I would highly recommend this to someone who is looking to switch to SE shaving, but has a little money to spend on it, or maybe for a SE user who is looking for a good travel option. I would replace mine in a heartbeat if it came up missing.

Safe way to learn single blade shaving
I wanted to experiment with the cut throat shaving experience but do so at modest risk. So I ordered the Feather SS and the proguard blades. There may be slightly safer blade alternatives, like the light blade, but I wanted something that would also provide a close shave. This product works as advertised. Although I have had the occasional minor weeper I have experienced no major cuts or anything that too alarming. And bear in mind: I have no experience / skill / training in using a cut throat razor. Go slow and you should be fine. And - oh yeah - it does provide a very close shave. One word of warning though: I am not sure how much shaving with one of these guard blades prepares you for shaving with an unguarded blade. I suspect that it might not be adequate preparation, if some YouTube How Tos are to be believed. I think those guards have probably saved me from some very bad cuts had I not been using the guarded blade. But that is OK. If you consider the guarded blade as the end destination instead of a stepping stone to using the 'real blade' perhaps that is the best perspective. Leave the unguarded blades to the pros and just use this one. No shame in that and you will be rewarded with a fine shave.

Best blades ever!
I recently bought these blades for my Supply SE razor. Unfortunately, they are a bit too big for the Supply razor, but since I was unable to return these (ineligible for return), I decided to use a pair of scissors to cut them and place it into my razor. These blades are incredible! I have never had a smoother shave and felt so safe with single blade shaving. I typically used to get at least a few nicks with the original supply blades as well as others (Schick). But these ones - not a single nick so far and I've shaved 4 times with them already. Perhaps its because of their super sharp edge as well as the protective head which prevents nicks. I think I will continue to only buy these in the long run even if it means having to cut the blade every time and inserting them manually into my single edge razor.
