This is a good lockout set if you need something compact and portable. We have a set adhered to the shop floor wall but this one is much better if you need to take it on the go or lockout multiple areas over a large workspace. The kit is a basic lockout kit contained in a red zipper pouch. You can attach it to a belt if belt if needed and there are also rings on either side of the pack In addition to the belt loop. The kit contains two safety padlocks in the pack. The reason I'm giving the product 4 stars instead of five is that the padlocks are on the thinner side and wouldn't be a match for a pair of bolt cutters. What I do like is that each bolt has its own key so there is no risk or someone opening the wrong padlock if you neee to hand the key over. The locks seem well made and lock and unlock without a problem. In addition to the padlocks and the lockout tags there are two lockout hasps. They are pretty good quality - good enough that I would trust them as much as the padlocks. For those who need it and will use it the kit also has a plastic breaker lockout device. Overall it's a pretty comprehensive portable lockout kit. If you want a permanent fixture this probably isn't your best bet. If, however, you want a kit that's portable this is probably one of the most comprehensive lockout kits I've seen in this price range.

Just what I exspected

A nice field kit with two different size lockouts that accommodate up to three locks allowing lockout by three different people working at the same time. Although the lockouts allow three locks, only two locks are included in this set. As should be expected, each lock comes with only one key and the two keys are different. This prevents a second key from being used to remove the lock and also prevents one person, when their work is done, from removing the lockout device when the second person could still be working. Includes re-useable vinyl tags and some disposable tie-wraps. The kit also includes a single breaker lockout. This won't work on all panels, but is occasionally handy. Most electricians will have breaker lockouts for the different types of panels (GE, Cutler-Hammer, etc.). Not bad to have a generic spare, but it is plastic and could be broken off. The bag is reasonably sized. It could be less than 1/2 the size it is to save space. As is, it is large enough to easily hold more lockouts, more tags, more zip-ties, and at certainly another lock or other labels. This is a must have in large scale industrial environments, but as easy as these are to purchase they should be a must have for not only electricians, but for GC's to have and use as part of their work process. I highly recommend having and using lockouts. One handy trick is to write names on the locks so you know who on your team a lock belongs to and can radio them if you think they are done and they just left the lock on.

Considering its portability and all the included components, this is a good, economically priced lockout kit. The included breaker lockout is plastic and the only piece in the set that I would question as to durability. The padlocks, lockout tags and hasps look to be good quality. While not as hefty as those usually seen in shop installations, I trust that the strength of each component would be adequate, even if the padlocks look to be a bit on the thin side. Each is keyed differently, as they should be (the only other portable kit I've seen had identically keyed locks). Lockout stickers and do not operate tags are thoughtfully included. The bag has plenty of room to add individually identified needs. Overall, for a portable kit, I'd give it five stars.

This is a good basic lockout set, with everything you need. It comes in a red zipper pouch that has rings on both sides of the back top and a single very large sewn-in "belt loop" in the middle of the back. The two "Recyc" lock safety padlocks in this version aren't super strong looking (would probably cut fairly easily with bolt-cutters) but they're covered in red plastic (the shackles are also insulated with black plastic) and come with a set of "LOCKED OUT" stickers in three language versions for North America. The two locks are keyed differently (this is not an application where you want to end up unlocking the wrong thing accidentally!) They operate smoothly and the shackles lock on both sides. The two six-place lockout hasps are good quality, with red powder coating and should be at least as secure as the padlocks. It also includes a plastic breaker lockout device. The three "Do Not Operate" tags are in English only and made of thick vinyl and quite sturdy / waterproof. Overall it's a good complete set that should meet OSHA requirements, and give you peace of mind when working. 4.5 stars rounding down to 4. G.

portable. easy to use. does what it is meant to do. decent price for what is included in this kit. reduced from 5-stars to 4-stars because the 2 locks could probably be cut with bolt cutters, thereby defeating their purpose. since this is a "portable" set, however, this may be the reason for the flimsy construction. overall, however, this is a good set for a reasonable price in a convenient carrier bag. recommended for purpose with noted lock flimsy-ness.

This set has everything needed for implementing a lockout of out of service equipment in a small business. I like that every item is well made, and that the included zippered bag is easy to store with its useful content, and its bright red color is simple to find even in a crammed closet.
