Very disappointed with this device.I went to bed having stowed away all open food into the fridge. A number of flies were buzzing around providing useful "experimental subjects". I closed the kitchen blinds, switched off all lights - apart from this device - and closed the doors. This left 6 or 7 flies buzzing around.Arising this morning, I rushed downstairs thinking that after 9 hrs or so that surely it must have killed a few flies? Well, actually, no it hadn't. Indeed, I found the same flies circling the room apart from two actually sat on the device (maybe having mated?). Switching the device off and unscrewing the base, there were no electrocuted flies.Possibly mine is faulty but I'm puzzling at all the positive reviews this gets. Mine simply doesn't work and I am returning it.

So long story short, I have what I believe to be cluster flys that brood in my window seal, so sometimes when I open the window (to let the cat In At 2am) they swarm in. I brought two completing products this and another one. Left them both on equally distance to the swarm hovering over the ceiling light. Closed the door and turned the light off. Came back in the morning to find that this product won by a landslide the noticeable difference in the flys I had to remove from this ones general area was clue enough to its superiority. (There were basically none near the other one)

Looks good so suitable for a home rather than a takeaway restaurant!Seems to be mostly effective. More on smaller flies/moths rather than the bigger onesClose the curtains and turn off all lights to get the best effectYou certainly will struggle to sleep in a room with this on though at the blue light is very brightEasy to clean

I got this to deal with flies but think it’s more for mozzies and the likes (my search was for a fly killer).

I've had this item for a couple of months now through the summer.It looks fairly stylish for a fly trap, however it has not caught one single insect. I still have to chase the mosquitos with a flip-flop and the flies are not interested either.It says its easy to clean, and it certainly is, because there's nothing in it.

Having had this item for about a couple months now I can honestly say that not one fly or insect has been attracted to this in our office. I have tried placing it at different heights and in different locations. I even tried it at home wondering if the lighting in our office was having an effect as it is quite bright, but no joy at home either. Flies seem to actively avoid it! I have given 'easy to clean' 4 stars as there has been nothing to clean out as there are no dead insects etc.

Bigger insects struggle to get inside.
