I bought this to go with the shave set I got my husband. It holds the brush and razor perfectly

I bought this as a somewhat decorative drying stand for my 1960's era Gillette Super Speed razor (safety razor) and shaving brush. It 'kind of' suits my needs, but their claim that it is meant to hold both disposable and safety razors is suspect. The shape of it suggests that it's meant for disposables only. Yeah, I can awkwardly hang my razor from the back, but it doesn't quite sit right and a slight nudge will cause the razor to fall off.Also, the 'slot' meant to hold the shaving brush is both too narrow and set too low to the countertop. The handle on my brush is a 'fat' 1.5 inches, and simply will not fit as intended. Assuming it could fit, the bristles would be in constant contact with the wood, which is not ideal when drying a boar bristle brush. Whomever designed this chunk of wood obviously didn't have any reference razors/brushes to confirm its usefulness.On the plus side, it doesn't look bad and I am able set my brush on top of the holder sideways. If you use common disposable razors and have a very small brush, then this is a good product, but otherwise there are many better options out there for safety razors.

I obviously expected this to come in looking at least somewhat similar to the picture. Alas, this was not the case, as what I received is obviously painted, not stained as the picture shows. In addition to that, I cleaned off what could only be mold (in several different colors). As a woodworker, I can 100% guarantee that it was not sanded wood accumulation. Still, after cleaning, it looks fine, holds my items as intended, and will suit me needs. I’ll probably end up sanding it down, actually staining it, and then coating it with a gloss polyurethane in the near future.

It’s a brush holder. Looks nice, holds he brush, hasn’t had any wear with its use. If you want a nice looking stand for not too much money this is the one to get.

It arrived in two pieces. The brush holder glue failed. I fixed it with some wood glue. The finish is very rough with minimal sanding before staining. Its about the same quality one would expect from a cheap wood item from Costplus. It is light weight and so would be easy to knock over. It does the job of holding my gear and so it works as advertised.

Overall, this is a great product. However, the weight of the stand isn't enough to keep it in place on my tile countertop. It often slides around. Perhaps some adhesive or gripping foot would do a lot of good. It's beautiful and well worth the money!

I can't own enough of these fine stands in mahogany. I own six of them.A warning is needed for your knot diameter expressed in millimeters for your fine expensive badger brushes. The maximum knot size should be 20 mm max as some distorted hairs may be trapped in the slot while drying a wet brush after use. I spin my brushes while placing the knot in the slot as to capture any splayed hairs of the knot of my expensive brushes.

This wooden razor and brush stand is very functional and looks nice on the bathroom counter. It definitely helps reduce my son's shaving and grooming clutter. It's well made, especially for the price.
