It was in the village of Joure that Mr Egbert Douwes founded the Douwe Egberts company, a small store selling coffee, tea and tobacco. From these humble beginnings, Douwe Egberts gradually expanded throughout The Netherlands and then around Europe, becoming a coffee and tea market leader. Following this success, Douwe Egberts created the brand name "Moccona" in the early 1960's and brought it to Australia. Originally sold in delicatessens, specialty outlets and pharmacies, Moccona stood out for its distinctive glass cylinder jar and gold plastic cup. In 1977, Moccona was successfully launched in Australian supermarkets. With its reusable glass storage jar, Moccona became synonymous with freeze dried coffee in Australia and has since been a fixture throughout Australian households. Over the following years, the classic Moccona blend has been joined by many exciting ranges, including the Gourmet Range and Inspirations. Moccona's newest addition, the Café Classics range is quickly becoming a Moccona favourite with its assortment of frothy and creamy cappuccino and latte flavours.

Canadian voice for Australian instant coffee proves very reliable.
I was watching the annual Desert Bus for Hope online entertainment marathon, to raise funds for the Child's Play charity. On-camera volunteers started talking about how Australian instant coffee absolutely crushes North American instant coffee. One of the founding members of the Loading Ready Run comedy improv group cited Moccona as being especially good. The friend who introduced me to Desert Bus and LRR is one who greatly values good coffee, so I ordered a big jar for him. He shared it around the maker space, and everyone was well impressed. It's about 30 good cups of coffee, for the price of one great cup, and that's more than any instant I've ever encountered.

I was given this coffee during a recent trip to Australia and New Zealand. WOW!! It is wonderful, especially for an instant (not 'instance'!!) coffee. I brought back a small jar of it and had to have more. It is actually made in the Netherlands, I see on the label.... I'd recommend it to anyone who likes a rich, flavorful quick brew!

Broken on arrival
When my package arrived, the container was shattered.

They gave me 100g instead of 200g
Firstly I ordered 200g but the jar that came was 100g. Also it tastes really awful which I have read others on here say as well. Something is wrong here.

The Best
Tried this in Australia and brought some home it was so good. Very happy I was able to find a place to purchase it. Not a value buy as it's imported from Australia but this is the best instant coffee ever.

A Pleasant And Satisfying Instant Coffee.
The Moccona Mocha Kenya style freeze dried coffee arrived on time and in good condition (I never tire of writing this). Thankyou Amazon (Au) and Australia Post for fast despatch and delivery.I make my coffee with a mixture of 1/2 water and 1/2 hi-lo milk, heated on the stove, till it reaches the scolding point (I hate coffees made directly from the kettle).From the jar, the coffee has a mild coffee aroma with a hint of molasses and inkling of blackberry. Once the coffee is prepared, the aroma intensifies (although, not to a great extent).The flavour of the prepared coffee corresponds with that of it's aroma. Its intense, well rounded with some depth. It remains clean with little rawness and bitterness and even has a little winy after taste. Best still, it provides a good caffeine jolt to your system. Ahhh! All-round, quiet satisfying.Whilst not offering the aroma or taste of percolated coffee (markedly so), it provides a convenient and gratifying coffee fix.

The coffee is fine. Better than other well known brands IMO. Recommended but price match to ensure a good deal.

Packaging is plastic wrapped but the Moccona factory seals are broken. Packaging advises that if the seal is broken, do not purchase.
