Barlean's Organic Oils Greens, Chocolate Silk, 9.5 Oz (4 Pack)

I bought several of these before they "improved" the formula, and absolutely LOVED the taste, because it tasted like a super rich glass of chocolate milk, but kept away my hunger until the next meal, which was quite an accomplishment for me! lol So, when I decided to lose some weight, I bought this 4 pack to last me awhile, not noticing that it was "improved". Maybe it's healthier now (I don't have one of the old containers, so I can make the comparison), but there is now a fairly subtle taste of some of the healthy ingredients you might prefer not to taste in a chocolate drink. It's not bad at all, but it's definitely noticeable to me. Certainly not enough to stop me from drinking it, but a really picky person might be put off by it now. Another small complaint I have it the size of the container. It is smaller now, and when the powder gets to a lower level in it, you have to reach way down into it with the small scoop they include for measurement purposes. I'm a woman with fairly large hands, and I can barely reach inside it at that point, which is a little annoying. Oh, and I use an immersion blender to mix it up. I tried a blender bottle, but after shaking and shaking, it still left little bits of powder that didn't get mixed in. Not a problem, unless you plan to take it with you and mix it on the go, with no access to electricity. All in all, it's still pretty darned good, but I wish they had left the original formula alone! Like many products that undergo changes in formula or packaging, it's not always change for the good.

Chocolate silk is part of my daily routine now. First a cup of coffee, then 2 scoops of Choc Silk in 32 oz of water mixed with a little coconut and/or almond milk. It's like drinking a quart of choc milk for breakfast but with very few calories and lots of superfood ingredients. Helps me start every day with some good hydration and by filling me up in the morning, is helping me keep my weight right where I like it. LOVE this product!!!!!!!!

The chocolate silk itself is great, but this particular package arrived with the inner seal half broken, allowing the powder to spill all over the inside of the box. The question remains as to how the inner seal got broken on an unused product.

Added to a nutritional shake for my husband who is being treated for cancer. Very tasty!

1/3 less for the same price. White lid = 45 servings. Black lid = 30 servings. Add to that the new formula is a huge disappointment. My nephew asked why his good chocolate is now bad. I used to buy 2 or 3 a month. I often gave it away as gifts to family and friends. I've cancelled my subscribe and save. I'm totally bummed that I have cut from my daily routine, but it will save me a good chunk of money. Farewell, White Lid Barlean's Chocolate Greens, farewell. Sigh.

I drink this every morning using almond milk and a whole banana...I blend it up and drink it as my breakfast, because I normally don't like to eat breakfast. It keeps me going till lunchtime.

We feed this to our 2 year old in place of sugary chocolate drinks, and it's 5 servings of vegetables to boot! It's difficult to stir it in a glass, but we use a blender bottle.

The old version was AMAZING! However, they thought they knew better and changed the formula to make it "New and Improved!" NOT! It tastes like chalk now. Stay away. I'm VERY disappointed and wish they would go back to the old version.
