R7S lamps are becoming slimmer for compatibility with fittings which sit tightly around the underside of the lamp. Unfortunately my brief experience of two of these slim lamps was that they overheated in the fitting and started flashing. They were returned to Amazon.This lamp, in contrast, has a low-profile underside but a large wide top which allows the heat to escape. So there's no flashing and all the light produced by the lamp is directed outwards, usefully illuminating the surroundings.Colour rendition is also good so my only negative is that the lamp is expensive compared with its slimmer competitors. But I'd rather pay the price and get a lamp that works well without overheating than get one that's cheap but simply doesn't work properly. In terms of brightness in an uplighter the lamp is probably about equivalent to a 200W halogen because all generated light is directed outwards from the fitting.

Needed to re lamp a 'luxury' flat converted about 15 years ago with seemingly no thought for energy efficiency. All the main rooms, which had really high ceilings, were lit solely with powerful 230 watt halogen uplighters. Tried a number of different LED bulbs. These were the most expensive. I choose these for the lounge (7 bulbs) where brightness was very important. The asymetrical design enabled these bulbs to fit in the slim uplighters where other 20 watt bulbs were too fat. The brightness and colour was equivalent to the halogen bulbs I was replacing and although mounted close to the wall they didn't cast a pattern on the wall. They were well packed and seemed like a serious product. The only caveat is that I don't know how long they will last

The lamp is great. Very bright and consumes very, very little electricity, but, as is normal with LEDs it does not work properly with a dimmer. I have got the bulb in a floor standing lamp, with a dimmer switch on it. The funny thing is, even if I turn my dimmer switch right down to zero, then click it off, the lamp stays on, which shows how little power it consumes as it is still lit from the tiny amount of residual electricity getting through the dimmer switch. The only way to turn it off completely is to unplug the lamp from the socket. A bit of a nuisance, but not the end of the world.

Really pleased with this bulb; brighter than previous LED linear bulb solutions I've tried. Subjective luminosity feels greater than 150W halogen, more like 200W+. Be advised that bulb is quite fat, but is asymmetic so will fit so long as one side of the holder is open

Energiesparender und sehr heller Ersatz für R7s Halogenlampen (20 statt 200 Watt).

Luce intensa e immobile. Ha la stessa intensità e colore della alogena da 240w che è andata finalmente a sostituire. Non si nota differenza. Guardandola abbaglia meno. Adesse ordino una anche per l'altra camera.Sulla longevità ve lo dico più avanti

Según lo esperado. Alumbra como la halógena de 200w que tenía puesta. La luz que da es estable y bonita.Ha encajado perfecta en la lámpara de techo que tengo.Todo perfecto. Volveré a comprarla en el futuro.

Luminosità ottima, nessun prodotto analogo arriva a 2500 lumen, lampadina un poco sporgente rispetto all'alogena originale ma complessivamente un buon prodotto.Rapporto qualità /prezzo sarebbe ottimo se la durata della lampadina fosse simile a quella alogena: mi riservo quindi di valutare tra qualche tempo. Essendo ottimista ne ho ordinata una seconda per un altro ambiente, speriamo bene!
