Fits ok
This lens hood does fit but it's a bit tricky to mount, since I generally will leave a hood on it's not that big of a deal. What is a big deal is the quality of this hood. Like the vast majority of lens hoods it's plastic but this one the plastic is very thin and I'm somewhat concerned about how much abuse it could take before breaking. I'm very careful of my gear but things happen. I decided to keep it because I did need a lens hood badly and I also didn't want to spend $30+ on an OEM hood. If you aren't in urgent need of a hood skip this one. $14.99 was way to much for this. Update 07/20/13: I was being to generous with 3 stars. Now I give it -1 star a complete waste of money. One of the springs in the clamp let go rendering this thing useless after a few weeks. Since I have bought a generic metal screw in lens hood simply labeled as 49 mm Metal Lens Hood for Pentax & Takumar 35 mm 50 mm Standard Lens. The seller id RainbowImaging and it's made by LS. Since I prefer to leave the lens hoods on this works perfectly for me.

Does the job
Prevalent advice was to use a hood with my F1.4 Pentax lens. This was the only one that seemed available via Amazon. It's a bit hard to use....uses a spring clip attachment with "grabbers"...spring sticks sometimes and grabbers don't always attach on the 1st 3 tries - annoying & wouldn't depend on it in a short time frame to use...but it works well once it's attached. Shot about 300 pictures at a family wedding & the hood stayed connected the entire time.

Does not feel well made. The attachment is not very solid. The rectangular shape requires finicky adjustment to get positioned just right or it looks stupid. The hoods that can screw in are much to be preferred, but alas, with a rectangular shape that won't work.

Very useful
This lens hood works and it is well made. For the price, it is a very good deal. It is, however, a little difficult to put on with or without a filter on the lens, which is why I only gave 4 stars. Lastly, it would be nice if it could be reverse mounted for storage. BTW, the lens in question is a FA 50mm f/1.4.

good but not great
I'm glad to have it, but the construction seems a little cheaper than I expected. Also, it would have been better with a cover for the lens hood, or if there was a way to put a lens cover over the glass with the hood still mounted to the lens.

Great addition for Pentax vintage lenses...
Nice hood for my old Pentax Asahi vintage lenses. Don't have the camera anymore, but I'm sure this hood is serving its new owner well.

Not durable.
Clips that hold hood to lens are not durable. It does not grip well, one bump and the tab came apart and spring went flying.

One Star
Cheap. Doesn't stay on. Broke off within a week.
