I am enjoying this book; although Iveta long way to go. You'll gather the tools needed. Those are explained. You'll set up your workspace and collate resource materials. Then learn how to sketch faces, figures, costumes, and elements from nature. In the meantime, think about how all of this can turn into a magical, watercolor, fairyland. You'll need to learn watercolor basics. The final section features other artists and their methods. This is quite a bit of material to cover in one book. I appreciate the attention to detail and beautiful sketches and finished paintings.

I absolutely love this book so I just had to review it.I'm a portrait artist so drawing anything other than faces is very difficult for me. Figures, objects, and backgrounds are intimidating to me but Sara made it easy and fail proof. I uploaded some of my doodles based on the lessons so you guys can see. If I can do it anybody can do it.Likes: beautiful artwork, easy to follow tips and instructions, step by step, it teaches the very basics all the way up to expert tips, for all levels of skill!Dislikes: I only wish Sara had more books, she is one of the best. I was very impressed with this book.

I have yet to fully read the book, but I can already see how helpful it will be in my quest to start drawing fairies and whimsical imaginary characters in general. I love Sara's art and easy to follow instructions. The book itself is such an eye candy. I can look through it for days! I also appreciate the section on how to draw light and shadows. It's something I'm still learning and trying to perfect. Sara has various examples of how to do it depending on where the light source is coming from. I would say that this book is good for any age and skill level. I'm a self taught artist whose still trying to get back in the groove of drawing (after quite a few years of not drawing) and I find this book to be very helpful when it comes to the general stuff like anatomy and drawing proper face structures. In all, I recommend this book!

beautiful and well put together, great for art reference

Beautiful book with a lot of information about color as well as how to paint a Fairy. There is a great section about the color wheel and different color palettes to use to create the whimsical creatures. There is also a section explaining what tools you need (brushes, colors and paper). I appreciated the review on proportions as well. I am pleased with this buy!

Fantastic and very detailed. So many colorful examples. Although I am a beginner watercolor artist, the fairies in this book are a level 10. Experts and beginners will both love this book.

this is a wonderfully illustrated book, I am having a go at water colouring, it is so helpful, feel like a real artist with end results. Would highly recommend this book.

Helpful info on basic form of body. Lots of advice on actually practicing and creating references. Not as 'fluffy' as I thought it would be
