J-B Weld 40003 Wood Restore Repair Putty - 0.75 Pt. Putty, 0.75 Oz. Hardener

First time using this product. Used to fill gaps in cheap plywood before painting. Followed directions for mixing. Sets easily within 15 minutes and can be sanded soon thereafter. Would suggest mixing in small amounts till you gain experience with the amount of hardener needed. Very easy sanding. Used white primer to paint the filled edge. Filling not visible.

Well this product is essentially bondo. Mixes like bondo, spreads like bondo, smells like bondo, sands like bondo. It did a great job filling in some old beat up door jambs so that I could reset the latch catch. I would recommend the product and I'll definitely use it again.

This was a mix yourself product which was okay but you have to mix a small quantity at a time and use it quickly. Overall it did what it was supposed to do.

In a world where everything has been made cheap and disposable, this is one of those products that still performs extremely well, as a professional would expect. Of course, the cost is toxic fumes when the hardener is being mixed in, so wear proper safety gear and get the job done safe and right.

Used this to fill in an area on a 4x4 post that had rotted out. Hole was about 3 x 4 inches and over an inch deep. It cures quickly so you have to work fast but that's what you want for vertical surfaces. A half hour later I sanded and primed it. Some paint and it looks brand new.A review here complained that the putty and hardener were the same color and you couldn't tell when it was mixed. The putty is light grey and the hardener is dark blue so it's easy to tell when it's mixed.J-B Weld products rock!

I like the product - it is easy to mix and does what it said it will do. Only complaint is that it is expensive

First word of caution... it's REALLY difficult to accurately mix hardener and putty. The wood filler itself is not particularly solid, but not a liquid, extremely sticky, does not hold any form, and it is thereby impossible to guesstimate "golf-ball sized amount 1/2" thick" to then "mix with 3/4" line of hardener". In addition, because the hardener and wood filler are not highly contrasting colors, and because of the relatively small amount of hardener compared to filler, it is very difficult to know when the two are fully mixed.Second, the smell is very, very strong.Third, once mixed, the compound is still very sticky and does not easily hold form. It is good for filling in a crack or small hole, but will not hold form on its own.On the better side.... it does dry fast and can be sanded easily.
