Great Device for the price!!!
I wish I had found this device years ago before I bought TV Ears. This is a great device, at a very good price. Not only does it work as wireless sound for any device, but it is also a radio. It has very good range capability. I walk around the house and still clearly hear it through walls, whereas my old TV Ears, gets white noise (static) if only the blankets get on the way when lied in bed. Another great feature is that the headset is not rigid (like the TV Ears), hence, one can lie in bed, and it is not uncomfortable. The transmitter (base) uses either batteries or adapter. The headset is shaped into a loop to be placed around the neck, if desired.REMARKS TO SET IT UP RIGHT:- Not sure, but it seems to work better when directly connected to the first source of sound, that is, when the sound is not bridged through another device.- If it seems not to work, turn the base (transmitter) on and off; that should fix it.- Using the device, I discovered that it works better when using AC adapter. The range improves dramatically compared to using just batteries.- Also, I purchased two devices and tried to use them at the same time, but they both try to catch each others transmitter. So, don't turn two devices of this at the same time.- I am using an universal AC adapter that has several input settings, but Amazon offers a super cheap one, something like $2.00. So, it is not a big deal to get one. It needs a DC 3V input.I am glad I did not return it, when I thought I would, until I realized about the simple issues above. Highly recommended.

It does not work
I received this item, added batteries and set it up. The headphones do not work. Fortunately, I have Bluetooth headphones that performed the use I purchased this item for. To use with my television and DVD player. The shipping is too expensive to return to China. Sorry, no more purchases from overseas.

Scan/Reset Buttons Broke
SORRY! Wrote the review below too soon. After a few days, and using the headset the third time, the Scan and Reset buttons on the headphones clicked in but stayed pushed They broke. I returned the unit, using the great new Amazon return option at any Kohl's store! Will try another type - and post a review.--------------Worked the first time. Just plugged the 3.5mm stereo plug into my stereo headphone jack, after loading the headphones with (2) AAA batteries, and hooking the transmitter to an ac adapter.Pros:- Compete control of mic - it is only on the transmitter tower and has a dedicated RCA plug - no one can hear anything if you don't plug the red RCA plug into anything;- Works as described.Cons:- external ac adapter hum comes through on tower signal (yes I tried turning the plug around - will use it with rechargeable batteries instead of an adapter);- headphone has weak reception signal if picking up the tower or local FM stations - inconsistent coverage when more than 30 feet from tower;- headphone and tower battery doors do not fit well.- five-step process to use it with the tower:1. turn on tower;2. plug tower into audio source (my headphone jack cuts out the normal speakers);3. turn on headphone;4. press "reset" on headphone;5. press "scan" on headphone,- headphone and tower battery doors do not fit well.Yes, it does not "remember" the tower signal.Did not try the other modes, only the FM tower and local FM stations. My use will only be occasional, so it is OK considering it was less than $20.

very good... dad very satisfied
I bought this for my dad who has partial deafness problem. And he is extremely happy with it. However, there are two things that you need to keep in mind.First, the device doesn't come with its own ac adapter. So you will either need to buy one of those universal ones (voltage range is 2-3 voltes if I remember correctly), or keep using AAA batteries which is not very practical. You will also need AAA batteries for the receiver (which you will plug your headset into) this doesn't have the option for an ac adapter and I don't see why someone would want that. The whole point is to keep it portable. But I thought you should know that the device is not rechargeable as the provided picture might suggest.Second, if you care about the health of your ears you should get another headset because the one that comes with it is really awful.I've mentioned these two issues because I think you should calculate them into the overall price. There's another issue that is not so serious but is worth mentioning. The buttons on the receiver device are useless. I don't know what they are for. I clicked on one of them accidentally and struggled to get the device back to its normal setting. So keep in mind that this is not exactly an Apple standard product in terms of user-friendliness. My advice to you is to never use the buttons.

Really…
Even when the unit was plugged into the tv, it didn’t produce the tv audio. All it ever did was act as a radio signal receiver. Don’t Buy!

These are the best
I"ve tried several of these wireless headphone sets, and this is the very best. The sound is very clear and you can even walk around the house and still be able to hear whatever you are listening to very clearly. The headphones come on a lanyard kind of deal, very handy for wearing whether you're laying down or upright. They should come out with a delux version that come with rechargeable batteries in the receiver and a converter for the transmitter so you don't have to mess with batteries.
