SnapRest The Instant Comfort Armrest Compatible with Ford F-150 (2015-20 ONLY)

I really wanted this product to work. When I saw the listing I was a bit confused as to how it worked but I read the product description and decided to give it a shot. The quality of the product is very good, and the leather is genuine with very nice stitching and finishing.The issue lies in the mechanism to secure it to the door which in my opinion was not very well thought out. First of all, there isn't much to attach it to, but something could have been done with the hole for the door opening, some type of turnbuckle mechanism to allow it to be clamped on. The description states: "Just SNAP it in the door pull" but it doesnt snap at all, it just sits in there, there is no pressure or slight interference which means this is just placed there. a 2" long piece of 3M VHB tape is supposed to secure the armrest at the back end.The main issue is that this product clearly states it should not be used to close the door, however it has a huge opening very reminiscent of a door pull, so anybody that gets in the car is 1000% guaranteed to rip off the armrest off your door panel. A relative got in my truck to move it in the driveway and they ripped it off. My mechanic also got in the car and immediately ripped it off. WHY did you guys put a hole for people to pull on it?? if it was supposed to be an armrest, and you're not supposed to pull on it, you should have just left it as a flush square. This is one of those things that just baffles the mind.Lastly, the armrest sits higher than the center console. Yes its comfortable but it's uneven, so its the same as before except your left arm is now higher, and your elbow is hitting this pad as you're using the steering wheel while parking or backing up.I really wanted it to work. I was fully pot committed, even go the Leather one. I will be returning this and waiting until this company gets it together and releases a V2.

When I purchased this I though it would snap into place and be a press/friction fit holding it in place. I believe this was the case on previous year F-150's that have a spot in the door for this rest to slide into. On my 2019 F-150 the design of this rest requires the use of double sided tape to hold this rest in place at the rear directly on the faux leather which was not readily apparent when I purchased.When you set this in place on a 2019 F-150 nothing at all keeps it in place as the fitment does not really press/snap into place. It is very loose and it then becomes apparent that the double sided tape they provide is the only thing truly holding this in place.You must be very mindful not to pull on this when closing the door as the only thing preventing it from falling off is double sided tape. I mark this product as barely adequate at this price point I expected a better engineered fit that did not require tape. The seller assured me that this tape will not cause any damage should I ever need to remove it. I hope this is true years from now if I remove it when I sell the vehicle. I would also have liked for it to be higher as it would have better supported left arm supported steering. I can left arm steer with this better, but still not 100% natural comfort steering from the 9 to 10 o' clock position on the wheel as is my preference. This rest provided a more 7 to 8 o' clock supported steer.

The product is great! I can't drive without it now it's so comfortable. I see some complaints about mounting but it's really up to you on how permanent you want. Heck first few weeks I would just put it in place when driving and take it off when exiting the truck (f-150 2018) but now I've added some vhb tape and plowed two self tappers with a finish washer into the truck. But more importantly, if you're an old geezer like myself the effect it has reducing back pain is amazing. Take note of the back pain subject in the product description ..absolutely correct . I can still reach the normal door handle to exit the vehicle. Very nice product

this guys are great at customer service they refunded my order no questions ask to me that is the best service ..what happen you may ask well the product is good quality unfortunately it did not fit my 2019 F 150 XLT doorlook like there may have to be some more engineering done to fit this pickup model door.aide from that they refunded my order .. quickly.

The armrest really helps by keeping your left arm high so you can handle the steering wheel without having to hold your left arm up. I drive mostly with my left arm, so this really helps prevent fatigue. The only problem is that the armrest doesn't stay put - it flies off when I shut the door. It stays in pace OK while driving, but it is just a nuisance to have it come off. The sticky tape supplies with it is just no doing the job.

The material does not finish well at the bottom of the unit. It is not tucked into the bottom of the plastic housing and is not glued well. The two sided tape to keep the unit from moving off the door is a joke. The most narrow strip of two sided tape and it lasted all of 5 minutes in the Texas heat. (I have since used my own two sided tape (wide strips and several of them) to hold it to my door. I just don't like how the material tucks into the bottom plastic housing. It looks cheaply made and contrasts with my brand new vehicle.
