Reengineered to take you higher and deeper than ever before, the new Atlas 12 Series and Elektra 12 Series snowshoes feature their most aggressive traction system yet while maintaining hallmark Atlas durability and comfort. Literally armed to the teeth with new traction - the 12 Series' tenacious, stainless steel Zodiac toe crampon deeply penetrates even the firmest snow, while the weight-activated, StabiLock Rear Traction optimizes weight distribution to its serrated traction elements, for sure footing on the most technical terrain. The men's and women's Wrapp Pro bindings feature FlowTape silicone straps that glide through low-friction buckles with a smooth buckle release for easy on-off use. The 7075 aluminum frame is the lightest, strongest tubing available and the variable ReactiV forming lends a stiffer, more responsive flex. To build on a legacy as storied as the 12 Series required us to design a snowshoe equipped to write the next chapter in Mountain Hiking performance.

Poor quality decking material; poor warranty
I've owned the Atlas 12 series snowshoes (35-inch) for less than 2 months and have put less than 65 miles on them, mostly on flat surfaces. The decking material is tearing in several places on both left and right shoes, and will soon be torn thru, making the snowshoe non-functioning. The current Atlas warranty does not cover torn decking. Since the decking is the key component of any snowshoe and the decking of this Atlas snowshoe is the weakest component, the warranty is essentially worthless. At a cost of $255.00+ and only 65 miles of snowshoeing, this is a very poor investment.Note: I've been snowshoeing for 50+ years. For the last 15 - 20 years I've owned and used a pair of Atlas 1033 snowshoes. The weak link on those snowshoes are the rivets. Under the original lifetime Atlas warranty for those snowshoes, the rivets were repaired twice. Now, however, there are a half-dozen broken rivets, and based on Atlas's revised warranty they will no longer repair the snowshoes without the original receipt. And, after 20 years I don't have the original receipt. At least I was able to put hundreds of miles on those snowshoes.

Greatest snowshoes Period
I'm now on my 2nd pair of Atlas snowshoes and continue to love them. I went with the flagship model this time due to the occasional mountaineering I do, and the long ones (35") due to the unbelievably deep snow we up this year. I can't really say the 35"'s float any better than the 30"'s but the traction is incredible. No matter if I'm climbing rocks or ice, I've never slipped and the shoes always seem to find solid footing no matter where or what I'm walking on.Love how easy it is to step in and out of these, and I was a little nervous actually on the new models as the straps they use are so quick and easy, I wondered if they would last vs. the old traditional heavy duty seat belt type material straps of old. No worries though as I've punished my new pair this year they still look and operate like new.If you have the need and can afford it, these are definitely the shoes for you.

The Atlas 12 series is the best Atlas snowshoe I've ever used
Fabulous! We've rented snowshoes many times and this year decided to buy our own. The Atlas 12 series is the best Atlas snowshoe I've ever used. The build quality is significantly superior to the current line of Atlas products. If you can find a 12 series, snap it up while there are still some available. the new ones seemed to have been cheapened out to cut costs.

great snowshoes would buy them again
I bought these after much research they are my first pair of snowshoes and so far I have been impressed they are lightweight and work well the binding system is great its comfortable and extremely quick and easy to take on and off the suspension system seems to work well and they have great traction. As far as durability goes only time will tell they are extremely lightweight and seem to be well made but they are made for snowshoeing not rockclimbing and I don't think they would do well under extreme abuse. If you are wanting a top of the line pair of snowshoes I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Great product. Binding is way better than on previous versions. I just wish the price were lower.
