Organic Long Term Storage Food Comparison
According to my calculations:SURVIVE2THRIVE 40 DAYS/NIGHTS 100% ORGANIC FOOD SUPPLY at $299.99 contains 36,825 calories. At 2,000 calories per day, this is about 18.4 days worth of food for one adult, at a cost of $0.0081 per calorie or $16.29 per day. Shelf life: 10-15 years. Recipes: 8+ (Eight basic ingredients with two spice varieties suitable for various combinations, plus two supplements, chia seeds and enerfood.)Compared to other organic long-term-storage food:Mountain High Organics Certified White Long Grain Rice 6 Gallon/40 LB Bucket at $135.50 contains 71,165 calories. At 2,000 calories per day, this is about 35.6 days worth of food for one adult, at a cost of $0.0019 per calorie or $3.80 per day. Shelf life: 10 years. Recipes: 1 (they also offer single-ingredient six-gallon buckets of brown rice, black beans, garbanzo beans, pinto beans, steel-cut oats and rolled oats) Mountain High Organics Certified Organic Black Turtle Beans 6 Gallon/40LB Bucket at $147.83 contains 60,000 calories. That's about $4.31 per day. Mountain High Organics Inc. Certified Organic Steel Cut Oats 6G Bucket (42LBS) at $163.62 contains 71,400 calories. At 2,000 calories per day, this is about 9.8 days worth of food for one adult, at a cost of $0.0133 per calorie or $26.66 per day. Shelf life: Up to 25 years. Recipes: 4NuManna USDA ORGANIC Family Pack at $419.95 contains 28,600 calories. At 2,000 calories per day, this is about 14.3 days worth of food for one adult, at a cost of $0.0146 per calorie or $29.37 per day. Shelf life: Up to 25 years. Recipes: 9 + (Nine recipes plus powdered milk and chia seeds)Comparing the variety and level of recipes, the shelf life, and the convenience of the packaging, this Survive2Thrive bucket falls between the basic bulk-packaged single-ingredient offerings of the Mountain High Organics buckets and the individual pouches of multi-ingredient recipes in Readywise and NuManna. As one might expect, Survive2Thrive's price per calorie falls between these groups, as well. All of these come in buckets, so a bucket wrench might be needed to open this packaging.Other single-ingredient organic offerings in long-term storage packaging like freeze-dried fruits, vegetables, tomato powder, palm sugar, powdered milk etc, are now available in #10 cans (Health Ranger). A can opener will be needed for this packaging. If you want to pack your own, to save money or increase convenience, be sure to choose foods that are suitable for such packing. Bulk dried organic rice, beans, and oats are available from various purveyors, (Food2Live, Banyan Botanicals, Lundberg Farms, Royal Organic) and some freeze-dried organic fruits and vegetables in bulk are also available (Frontier Coop) vacuum seal in 7 mil mylar bags with oxygen absorbers (AvidArmor, PackFreshUSA) for longest shelf life. Scissors may be helpful to open this packaging.May you enjoy excellent health!

Total Waste
Not useful in a survival situation. I bough one of these about 7 years ago and we recently opened it out of curiosity. I was surprised to find that the bags are not resealable, nor are they in reasonably sized individual serving sized bags. Hope you are ready to use 4lbs of garbanzo beans all at once. A lot of cooking will be necessary to use any of these foods, nothing ready to eat, nothing simple. The few recipes included call for a number of things not included in the bucket, and there are no instructions at all for the "enerfood" (powder), or the pancake mix. This is a total waste of money. $40 of beans, rice, and powdered milk at walmart will feed you much longer and better. Invest in plenty of firewood and water at your bunker if you want to be able to eat anything out of this bucket. What a joke. I could see this being worth $55 to someone really into the organic thing, you would have to be insane or already starving to pay north of $250.
