Description: This is a great little RFID Reader Module from Innovations. Just power the module, and it will read any RFID card within range. It will output the cards ID in a serial string, which can easily be read by any microcontroller. The spacing on the pins is 2 mm, which means the module will not directly fit on a breadboard. The new ID-20LA is exactly the same as the older ID-20, but with a wider input voltage range. Features: 2.8 - 5V supply 125kHz read frequency EM4001 64-bit RFID tag compatible 9600bps TTL and RS232 output Magnetic stripe emulation output 180mm read range Dimensions: 38x40mm Datasheet: can be located on Jaycon Systems Product page

fun toy
I used this as part of an arduino car alarm system for my convertible. The RFID card is in my wallet, and when placed in proximity to the RFID reader, dis-arms the alarm.A couple notes on range: - the effective range is just 4 or 5 cm when inside my wallet - if the reading distance is <1cm, then precise location is critical. You will not get a good read if the card is directly on top of the reader unless the card is located with the RFID precisely centered over the reader. The unit seems quite robust. I've had this in a car for 4 months now, and it gets read every ~2 seconds 24/7 (that's a lot of reads!). Still working like a champ!
