Does the job, seems to be good quality. Needed it to connect my dashcam to the 12v socket in the boot of my car as the cable it came with wasn't long enough. Gets in the way if I use the socket between the front seats and was able to completely hide the cable through the length of the car. Important to note if you connect to the 12v socket the dashcam is classed as an accessory, whereas if you connect via a fuse tap, it's seen as a modification to the car by your insurer and you must declare it.

I love the question “What should customers know?” What customers should know, before submitting reviews, is how electricity works! This is a great piece of kit. The wiring is sound and the cable is good quality- It’s copper. Did you know there are Chinese imports with copper-coated steel wires? Always worth checking. Now the electrician part: Some customers have burnt these out- usually with photos of melted plugs. If you burn these out, it’s because you’ve over-loaded them. I ran them through a testing program. 10A is a maximum. TBH, if you’re pulling anything above 6A you’ve bought the wrong piece of kit. You will lose 1A of current for every 10 meters of cable. It’s precisely why you should not use extension cables for things like lawnmowers and power tools. You will burn the cables out. And possibly burn your house down! Even if you have MCB’s fitted they won’t trip. You aren’t over-loading the circuit- you are under-loading it. So let’s apply that to this product. 1 amp loss per 10 meters = 0.1A per meter. These are 4 meters long, so allowing for the plug wiring, you will lose about 0.5A. Doesn’t sound like much? If you charge the phone at 5 amps and it takes one hour, using a 4 meter extension will mean another 6 minutes per hour. And bear in mind, many phones won’t charge at all if the amp supply is less than 2.5-3Ah. So be realistic- can you ACTUALLY charge the phone with any cable longer than 2 meters? Apple have deliberately designed the phones to only draw 2.5 Ah if you don’t use an Apple charger, so again be realistic. Can you charge your phone with 4 meters of cable?

Cable length is great. The cable itself is very well made and in the last 9 months of use it has handled various weather conditions just fine. I can't speak for "180 Watts" because I don't have anything that uses that much power - but with the things that I do have - Tyre Inflator (100watt), Seat Warmers (50 Watts), the cable handled these items like a champ. It's fits in to all my 12v Cigarette ports with no issues. The only nitpick is the socket in the cable itself - it's very smooth - meaning that although it's easy to plug items in to the extension cable it's just as easy to accidently pull out.

The Amacam 12V/24V Car Charger Extension has been a useful addition to my car. Haven't used yet but looks and feels good quality

Use it in a campervan to run 12 volt power supply to different positions in the van. Sturdy lead and good quality with no issues so far. Well priced and far better than the flimsy easily damaged ones that I've had before.

No 12v outlet in the boot of my car so used this to power the portable fridge. Used for 6 weeks while touring Spain and it did the job :)

El cable, es un cable de calidad con doble aislamiento (2 conductores aislados dentro de una manguera) cosa poco habitual en los típicos cables paralelos, lleva un led para indicar si hay tensión en la toma. El precio, es correcto por la calidad que ofrece. Muy contento, la verdad!
