Smokin Tex Pro 1400

This my transition to electric smokers. It is well made, and here is the deal. I love BBQ but can't spend every Saturday messing with a smoker. Up at dawn to get it going, and then beat and hungry by the time it is finished. With an electric, you can start it at midnight using a timer and the food ready by lunchtime the next day with no attention or messing with the fire. The meat tastes the same as with my old traditional smoker, and has an even better texture because the temps are more constant and you can smoke longer at lower temps due to convenience and start-anytime capability. I think it will last for years. Note: on long smoking times I do switch racks halfway through to insure even cooking tems although I am not sure I need to. Do follow directions for wood, but if I switch racks I had one more small chunk for a bit of extra smokiness. Not sure I need to do that either.

Bought on recommendation of friend who has one and smokes meat several times a week. Delivered quickly; I just plugged it in and after doing the seasoning with the included wood, went to smoking. Nice and solid construction, very stable on the deck. Temp control is right on with nice viewable dial. Room for several cuts of meat, easily enough for a good sized group. Makes having delicious smoked meats stress free and convenient. Would recommend this to anyone who likes smoked meats or cheeses.

I've used this Pro 1400 a few times now and I have to say it's a lot easier than my old charcoal smoker. However, I noticed using my Maverick ET-733 probe that there is as much as a 50 degree swing in temperature inside the box before the thermostat kicks on the coil again. So in that respect I tend to babysit the smoker still just to make sure the temp stays close to 225 deg. Other than that, I'm really glad I bought it.

I have used the smoker a few times now and can say now that this is a great product. First off, it is solid head to toe thick stainless steal. Quality built by hand in America. I was hesitant at first to more than double the price of my old electric smoker without seeing this one, but I can tell this one is built to last. As I have gotten more and more into smoking meats I have gone through two other smokers, each lasting about 18 months with regular use, 3-4 times a month. The the stainless steal cabinet is a must and a large heating element is great. I also like the little housing that the wood is added to, it is easy to access and take in and out to clean. The adjustable thermostat is great since I do mostly pork shoulders and briskets, I can set it at night and feel confident when I go to bed that it will maintain that temperature till morning. I put mine on a Stainless steel work table that I got from Costco for $100 and it is the perfect hight to get in and out of, if it was on the ground I could see it being a bit low to access it comfortably. All in all I would recommend this product to anyone who has the means to buy one, it really makes slow smoking easy and efficient.

I've been looking to buy a smoker for several years and decided on a Smokin Tex. I've used it several times and am convinced I made the right choice. I've got an extensive restaurant background and have been around a lot of kitchen equipment and am impressed by the quality of the Smokin Tex 1400 pro. I've gotten salmon down to a science with it. I have no doubt I'm going to get many years of service out of it.

Well built works great. Fits right under shelf ofweber BBQ but yet holds a lot of meat. Cold smoke feature is really expands use of smoker.
