I rated this as 2 stars because I feel that the metal that inserts into the car seat belt buckle should be made of a thicker steel and the straps may be somewhat lightweight for the claims made by the manufacturer for the size dog its made for. My dog is a 60 Lb. Lab puppy and the very first time we used this product to fasten him into the car, we had left the door next to my dog open for a moment while we grabbed more items to load into the car. My dog went to jump out of the car when he saw the opportunity and bent the metal piece that inserts into the belt buckle and it pulled right out. I like how easy the harness is to adjust, place onto the dog and connect to the car seatbelt but in light of the "buckle" failure, I wonder how much protection it actually would provide my dog in an accident.

I needed a way to keep my beagle safe, and to keep her from climbing all over the car. I bought this dog harness and it does the job. The strap clips directly into the back seatbelt of my Toyota RAV4.What I like about it:- It is relatively easy to put on the dog, and clip into the seatbelt clip.- It seems comfortable.- It seems to be well made and I think it would be safe in an emergency stop or accident.What I don't like about it:- My beagle is just over 30 pounds. This harness vest is almost too large for her. We have the straps tightened all the way down. If you have a dog smaller than 30 pounds, you will want a smaller harness.- My beagle sheds a lot, and the material that this is made of seems to collect and hold a lot of that dog hair. My beagle sheds mostly light colored hair, and on this black fabric it shows up really well. It would be nice if it did not stick so well to this fabric.All in all, a good product that does what you expect it to do.

I take my son's dog for car rides. He sometimes hang so far out the window I was afraid of him falling out. If I left the window up higher he would be up on two legs hang out. If I had to hit the brakes he would lose his balance. I decided he need a seat belt. This was my choice, it does it's job and he still can get to his treat stash in the back seat. Don't panic, I now have a Mini Cooper Convertible, the back is almost part of the front seats. Also, it is so easy to unsnap and put his leash on before we get out . I'm waiting for summer and the car rides we can take with the top down. I won't have worried about him felling out or jumping out. I only hope he does not figure out how to release it form the seat belt latch.

These are great seat belts!! I bought 2, one for each of my dogs. They are so adjustable that the same size (XL) fit both my 51 lb Australian Shepherd and my 35 lb Border Collie.If you have a big dog that really pulls hard on walks, this harness may not be sturdy enough. However, it works well as a seat belt & harness for both of my dogs.

I have an 80 pound American Bulldog. If you have a small dog, I imagine this harness would be suitable. We tend to keep a harness on our dog because she likes to pull when walking. This harness isn't good for anything more than sitting in the car which means you would need a separate harness anytime you got out of the car. Why buy a harness if you can't use it anywhere but the car? It really should be universal. I will say the seatbelt connection was nice (they are really inexpensive to buy separately) so we attached it to our dogs training harness and threw the one that came with this in the trash. If you are using for just the car, I still don't think I'd trust it. I'd be afraid a larger dog could get loose and end up roaming the streets. It's thin and not at all suitable to hold a large breed dog

I have had this harness for a while and love it. I use it for walks as well. And I love that it’s super adjustable so if I need to use it on different dogs I can! Very simple and comfortable.

This vest is all it says it is and more. It was very reasonably priced and I would have avoided it because it seemed like too good to be true except for the reviews. It fits both of my dogs. I got extra large. One dog is 60# the other 65#, but I call her "the toad" because she looks like a fat toad when she sits. They do not mind these harnesses and wait with patience until I decide to take them off. The snaps fit in to my Honda Accord. The service was great as are these mesh vests with leash to connect for safety.

Even though the harness itself fits our dog, it would work well for a smaller, lighter-weight dog or one that wouldn't strain against the straps at all. The clasps aren't strong enough to hold our 60-lb. dog if she were to pull against it, or in the case of an accident or sudden, forceful stop. Unfortunately I waited too long and cannot return it. My mistake.
