Best ever...
Few people have the ability to write instructions well. This author is one of a kind. He can consistently communicate in terms easily understood by a non-engineer.Thanks- A G "Android" Van Osdol

I do recommend it.
If you are interested in making a small coil winding machine that will make rf chokes and coils, this will do it for you. Typical Gingery stuff - not sophisticated but works ok. This is probably the only one of its kind. I do recommend it.

An Old Art for Radio Technicians
The art and tools required to wind RF coils for old antique radios is gone as the old radios requiring these coils are rare and hard to find. Even harder to find are the tools, coil winding apparartus, parts to bring these old receivers back to life again. This book has good detailed instructions on building your own coil winding machine when these machines are no longer available, today. I built a winder from this book and am very pleased with the results.

Interesting. Gave me some ideas on how to do an automated one. Does require a lot of metal bending and cutting.

Saved the day! Okay, more like the week.
I had occasion the other day to be out in my workshop. I was rummaging through the drawers for a particularly hard to use thingamabob (not to be confused with a thingamajig - which are easy to use, easy to find, and quite frankly, not nearly as useful). In the middle of my frantic search - for I needed the thingamabob to repair my last coil - it occurred to me that even if I found the thingamabob, I would not be able to repair the coil because the thingamabob was particularly hard to use, and I was looking for the wrong one anyway.A light bulb came on - not literally of course, but it was one of those defining moments (okay, not defining) when something clicked in my brain (okay, it didn't "click" really, more of a flushing sensation). What I needed was not a thingamabob, and certainly not a thingamajig. I needed a coil, and better yet, I needed to make my own coil. Aren't they the best after all - self made coils?Unfortunately, I have no idea how to make my own coil, and certainly not how to make this particular coil. So I turned to Amazon, and lo-and-behold, the perfect book! Build a Universal Coil Winding Machine, by David J. Gingery! A self published title, no less, by a very spicy guy. Can't wait - five stars for the perfect solution!Just wish I knew what kind of binding it had.

Interessante lettura, facile costruzione.
Non ho ancora intrapreso la costruzione, ma le spiegazioni sono ben articolate. Ritengo che il progetto sia alla ortata di molti.
