I was pleasantly surprised by how sharp and how well this worked on sugar cane. It does take a little muscle and some learning the best method, but works well. Easy to clean and sturdy. The only small negatives are 1. because it is stainless steel, it get slippery when wet reducing your grip 2. Handle could be a bit longer are thicker for a better grip and leverage. Overall, works well and great for the price

I am keeping this gadget - just wished the handle is longer.

A bit light weight so you cannot cut it the way the Vietnamese cutting the cane.

It was very hard to cut the thick hard skin of the pineapple and there was no grip trying to hold on to the knife. It kept slipping and I had to keep drying my hand to have a grip on the knife. I thought of sending it back but have opened and thrown away envelope/bag it came it.
